Meloidogyne javanica and M. arenaria were identified morphologically and through isozyme profiles from root samples collected from a garden in the municipality of Londrina, Parana State, Brazil. To our knowledge, this is the first record of M. javanica and M. arenaria on calla in Brazil.

Analysis of karyotype, nucleic deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) content and sodium dodecyl sulfate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE) were performed in Zantedeschia aethiopica and Zantedeschia elliottiana.
