Metacommunity theory has expanded our understanding of how spatial dynamics and local interactions influence species communities, but we lack empirical studies specifically in terrestrial habitats testing which archetype is most important. In a replicated design we experimentally enhanced structural between‐patch heterogeneity in homogeneous production

Inscribing closed non-σ-lower porous sets into Suslin non-σ-lower porous sets
The main aim of this paper is to prove that every non-σ-lower porous Suslin set in a topologically complete metric space contains a closed non-σ-lower porous subset.

Experimental methods in chemical engineering: Electrospinning
Abstract Electrospinning produces micro‐ and nanofibres by forcing a polymeric solution through a fine needle in an electric field that produces a filament that accumulates onto a collector plate. The fibre morphology depends on solution properties, distance between needle and plate, feed rate, and electric field intensity.

Since the mid‐20th century, mean site‐level macrophyte richness declined by more than a quarter across 119 standing waters of various types in northwest Germany. Within protected areas, richness was consistently higher but declined at similar rates. Communities shifted towards eutrophic‐hypertrophic indicators, underscoring the need for catchment‐wide ...

Variability of Zeleny sedimentation volume in bread wheat and durum wheat from multi-environment trial [PDF]
The Zeleny sedimentation volume (ZS) is lean upon the ability of the endosperm storage proteins to swell and flocculate in a lactic acid and propan-2-ol solution in the presence of the dye, manifesting positive correlations with gluten strength, bread ...

Quality evaluation of emmer wheat genotypes based on rheological and Mixolab parameters
Mixolab has been used for rapid assessment of common wheat quality, but data about hulled wheats quality are rare. The aim of this work was to test the potential of Mixolab II in the baking quality evaluation of emmer wheat varieties.

Modeling of magnetic properties of A2BB′O6 compounds using ab initio and Monte Carlo methods
Ab initio and Monte Carlo simulations were employed to maximize the estimated Curie temperature of A2BB′O6 oxides. It was revealed that the element A ion radius should be as small as possible, while the magnetic moments of B and B′ elements should be as large as possible.
