Coordination of Superconductive Fault Current Limiters With Zero-Sequence Current Protection of Transmission Lines

IEEE Transactions on Applied Superconductivity, 2014
A 500 kV saturated iron-core superconductive fault current limiter (SISFCL) has been designed to be installed in an extra high voltage (EHV) transmission system in southern China. We carried out studies on compatibility and coordination problems in the application of this kind of device in an EHV network.

Zero-Sequence Current Suppression Strategy With Reduced Switching Frequency for Open-End Winding PMSM Drives With Common DC BUS

IEEE transactions on industrial electronics (1982. Print), 2019
Zero-sequence current (ZSC) is inevitable in the structure of an open-end winding permanent-magnet synchronous machine (OW-PMSM) system with a common dc bus due to the simultaneous existence of the ZSC loop and the zero-sequence voltage (ZSV) caused by ...

Zero Sequence Current Suppression Strategy for Open Winding Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor with Common DC Bus

IEEE International Conference on Applied Superconductivity and Electromagnetic Devices, 2020
The open-winding topology with common dc bus is applied to permanent magnet brushless motor for promoting power density and elevating torque output capacity, however zero-sequence current will be generated in the winding which would reduce the efficiency

Circulating zero-sequence current control of parallel three-phase inverters

IEE Proceedings - Electric Power Applications, 2006
A novel circulating zero-sequence current-control method for common DC-source parallel inverter systems is proposed and implemented in FPGA. The follower inverter can closely track the three-phase discontinuous PWM modulation waveforms of the master inverter and the circulating current caused by asynchronous modulation waveforms can be reduced.

High Impedance Grounding Fault Detection in Resonance Grounding System Based on Nonlinear Distortion of Zero-sequence Current

2020 5th International Conference on Smart Grid and Electrical Automation (ICSGEA), 2020
When the high-impedance grounding fault (HIGF) occurs in the resonant grounding system, the fault current is weak, and the traditional relay protection device cannot identify and remove the fault reliably.

A Review of System Grounding Methods and Zero Sequence Current Sources

2008 61st Annual Conference for Protective Relay Engineers, 2008
The purpose of this paper is to provide a tutorial or "refresher" on grounding methods, sources of ground current, ground current flow in the power system, and how each impacts protective relaying. With retirements, new hires, reorganization, cross training, and so on, this subject, like many others, requires regular review to maintain the experience ...

Insulation Deterioration Detection by Zero-Sequence Current Analysis for Induction Motors

IEEJ Transactions on Industry Applications, 2011
Insulation tests for the stator coil, which decides the motor life, are carried out once several years in power and industrial plant. In the case of high voltage (HV) motors, insulation failure may adversely affect plant operation. Hence, maintenance activities, including insulation tests, research on insulation deterioration, and online Partial ...

SVPWM Strategy Based on the Hysteresis Controller of Zero-Sequence Current for Three-Phase Open-End Winding PMSM

IEEE transactions on power electronics, 2019
Owing to high driving power, good controllability, and strong fault-tolerant ability, a three-phase open-end winding permanent magnet synchronous motor driven by a dual inverter with common dc bus is considered as a competitive solution.
