Protection technique based on -zero sequence voltages for generator stator ground fault
IEE Proceedings - Generation, Transmission and Distribution, 2004A mathematical model on a coil basis is used to study the characteristics of the zero sequence voltage of a generator. The proposed technique for the stator ground fault detection simultaneously takes into account the fault contributed zero sequence fundamental voltage and the fault contributed third-harmonic voltage (Δ-zero sequence voltage).

A space vector modulation for a low zero-sequence voltage output
IEEE 2002 28th Annual Conference of the Industrial Electronics Society. IECON 02, 2003A space vector PWM (SVM) algorithm is designed to prevent zero-sequence currents between tandem inverters in three phase applications. The development is motivated and illustrated by a GTO/IGBT inverter system, feeding a large three phase motor. In applications where harmonic emissions are highly undesirable, the low power/fast switching IGBT is used ...

Static series compensator for voltage dip mitigation with zero-sequence injection capability
2003 IEEE Bologna Power Tech Conference Proceedings,, 2004In this paper, a static series compensator (SSC) for performing compensation of voltage dips including a zero-sequence component is presented. The control strategy is based on a feedback action, thus achieving series compensation independent on the system parameters and their variations.

Differential Protection Based on Zero-Sequence Voltages for Generator Stator Ground Fault
IEEE Transactions on Power Delivery, 2007This paper introduces a new differential protection scheme based on zero-sequence voltages with 100% coverage for generator stator ground faults. Analysis shows that the Delta-fundamental zero-sequence voltages and the Delta-third-harmonic voltages at the generator neutral and the terminals will change simultaneously, and they present some similar ...

Study on the adaptive impedance relay based on zero sequence voltage polarization
7th IET International Conference on Advances in Power System Control, Operation and Management (APSCOM 2006), 2006An adaptive impedance relay based on zero sequence voltage polarization is proposed in this paper. The dynamic operating border of this relay is completely the same with operating border of the fault phase voltage UKφ of fault point, and its earth resistances possess sound adaptivity.

Dependence of Zero-Sequence Voltage Measurements on Static Eccentricity of PMSMs
IEEE Transactions on Industrial ElectronicsThe impact of the static eccentricity fault on electrical machines has been extensively explored in the literature. Various contributions have provided valuable models, such as the modified winding function approach (MWFA), which effectively characterizes the inductance behavior of an eccentric permanent magnet synchronous machine (PMSM).

Instantaneous Zero Sequence Voltage for Grid Energy Balancing Under Unbalanced Power Generation
2019 IEEE Energy Conversion Congress and Exposition (ECCE), 2019An instantaneous zero sequence voltage injection method is presented in this paper. The key novelty of this method lies in the ability to provide instantaneous zero sequence voltage references using stationary abc-framework variables with no numerical iterations and no phase-locked loops.

Minimizing the battery losses in MMC via Zero-Sequence Voltage injection: an open challenge
2024 International Symposium on Power Electronics, Electrical Drives, Automation and Motion (SPEEDAM)This work focuses on battery-powered Modular Multilevel Converters (MMC) and explores several methods aimed at improving overall efficiency by reducing the energy losses of electrochemical sources. MMCs represent a valid alternative to more traditional structures such as Voltage Source Inverters (VSI) because they possess several advantages.
