Zero-sequence Flux and Voltage of Induction Motors Supplied with Low-and High-frequency Currents

2007 IEEE International Electric Machines & Drives Conference, 2007
In order to precisely define the harmonic content of the main flux and stator voltage of an IM that is fed by high frequency carrier in addition to the normal set of stator voltages, the paper performs the analytical calculation of the zero-sequence components of the air- gap flux and stator voltage.

Development of new concept optical zero-sequence current/voltage transducers for distribution network

IEEE Transactions on Power Delivery, 1991
Optical zero-sequence current-voltage transducers for detecting faults in nongrounded distribution networks were developed. The detection part can be electrically isolated from the ground by use of the divide method, in which there is a stray capacitance between line and ground.

Characteristics Analysis of Capacitor Voltage Ripples and Dimensioning of Full-Bridge MMC With Zero Sequence Voltage Injection

IEEE Journal of Emerging and Selected Topics in Power Electronics, 2019
Compared to the conventional half-bridge submodule-based modular multilevel converter (MMC), the full-bridge submodule (FBSM) capacitance of FB-MMC can be reduced significantly with consideration of negative voltage state of the FBSM, which has benefits to cost and size reduction.

Air-Gap Flux Position Estimation of Inaccessible Neutral Induction Machines by Zero-Sequence Voltage

Electric Power Components and Systems, 2002
This paper describes a new and straightforward approach to estimate the air-gap flux position in induction machines. The proposed scheme is based on the injection of a high-frequency oscillating stator voltage instead of a three-phase high-frequency voltage, thus allowing a reduction in audible noises and torque ripple. The main feature of the proposed

Zero-Sequence Injection Technique for Capacitor Lifetime Extension on the Low-Voltage Converter of a Smart Transformer

IECON 2018 - 44th Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2018
The converter on the low voltage side of a Smart Transformer often has to supply unbalanced loads. The consequent neutral current flows through the DC link electrolytic capacitors in a DC-split configuration and hence represents the main cause of their overheating and of their premature failure.

Method for determining the zero-sequence voltage of a three-phase network with error correction

Ukrainian Metrological Journal, 2020
Voltage of symmetric components on zero sequence (ZSV) of the fundamental frequency (FF) describes one of important quality indexes of three-phase power mains – the unbalance of ZSV FF. A new method of analog-digital determination of ZSV FF is presented in the paper. It was realized by using the following operations: tuning the multiple three frequency

Design and experiment of zero-sequence voltage flexible control device for distribution network

2017 China International Electrical and Energy Conference (CIEEC), 2017
The traditional passive arc suppression device can not compensate the active component of single-phase grounding fault current, and its arc suppression effect is limited. A zero-sequence voltage flexible control device was proposed and designed in this paper.

Protection technique based on -zero sequence voltages for generator stator ground fault

IEE Proceedings - Generation, Transmission and Distribution, 2004
A mathematical model on a coil basis is used to study the characteristics of the zero sequence voltage of a generator. The proposed technique for the stator ground fault detection simultaneously takes into account the fault contributed zero sequence fundamental voltage and the fault contributed third-harmonic voltage (Δ-zero sequence voltage).

Minimizing the battery losses in MMC via Zero-Sequence Voltage injection: an open challenge

2024 International Symposium on Power Electronics, Electrical Drives, Automation and Motion (SPEEDAM)
This work focuses on battery-powered Modular Multilevel Converters (MMC) and explores several methods aimed at improving overall efficiency by reducing the energy losses of electrochemical sources. MMCs represent a valid alternative to more traditional structures such as Voltage Source Inverters (VSI) because they possess several advantages.
