Single-switch DC-DC converter with zero-voltage-switching and clamped voltage

Proceedings of IEEE Power Electronics Specialist Conference - PESC '93, 2002
Single-switch DC-DC power converters with zero-voltage-switching and clamped voltage (ZVS-CV) are presented. To construct such converters, a switch cell, which consists of the basic PWM (pulse-width modulation) switch cell and an additional commutation inductor circuit, is proposed.

A new zero-voltage switching DC/DC boost converter

IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, 1993
A pulsewidth-modulated (PWM) zero-voltage-switching quasi-resonant boost converter operating at constant switching frequency is presented. In contrast to the frequency-modulated (FM) zero-voltage-switching quasi-resonant boost converter, this converter possesses better controllability and higher operating performance, and overcomes the instability ...

Zero voltage soft switching converter with high input voltage

[Proceedings] Thirteenth International Telecommunications Energy Conference - INTELEC 91, 2002
High input voltage to a converter decreases its efficiency because turn-on loss of a main switch increases in proportion to the square of the input voltage. To decrease turn-on loss, the authors examined a zero-voltage-switched quasiresonant power converter. It causes severe voltage stress, which is about four or five times the input voltage, on a main

A zero-voltage transition boost converter using a zero-voltage switching auxiliary circuit

IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 2002
A soft switching boost converter with zero-voltage transition (ZVT) main switch using zero-voltage switching (ZVS) auxiliary switches is proposed. Various operating intervals of the converter are presented and analyzed. Design considerations are discussed.

A simple zero-voltage-switching boost converter

Proceedings IEEE Southeastcon '98 'Engineering for a New Era', 2002
In this paper, a new type of PWM boost zero-voltage-switching converter is presented. The new soft-switching converter is formed by adding only two auxiliary components to a conventional boost converter, namely: an active switch and a resonant inductor. The voltage stresses on both the main and auxiliary switches are fixed at V/sub g/+V/sub o/ and they

Zero-voltage-switching converters with multi-resonant bipolar switch

Proceedings of IEEE Power Electronics Specialist Conference - PESC '93, 2002
Full-wave mode operation of zero-voltage-switched (ZVS) power converters may be losslessly implemented by splitting the resonant capacitor across both the active switch (MOSFET) and the series diode. By appropriately choosing the relative size of each capacitor, charge otherwise trapped inside the MOSFET output capacitance at turn-on may be ...

Zero voltage switching series resonant based UPS

PESC 98 Record. 29th Annual IEEE Power Electronics Specialists Conference (Cat. No.98CH36196), 2002
This paper presents a novel single-phase UPS topology based on series resonant power converters. Among the features of the proposed topology are: (i) zero voltage switching for all power converters that comprise the UPS; (ii) inherent protection against short-circuits in the load; (iii) high quality output waveforms even when operating at no load or ...

Zero voltage switching approach for flyback converter

[Proceedings] Fourteenth International Telecommunications Energy Conference - INTELEC '92, 2003
A zero voltage switched flyback power converter which realizes soft switching for every semiconductor is proposed. The sinusoidal resonant current flows through the secondary side rectifier diode and zero current switching of the diode is realized. Diode recovery is not generated.

Zero-Voltage-Switching Voltage Doubled SEPIC Converter

2011
A zero-voltage-switching (ZVS) voltage doubled single-ended primary inductor converter (SEPIC) is presented in this paper. An active clamp circuit is added to the conventional isolated SEPIC converter to clamp the voltage across the switches and provide ZVS operation.

Zero voltage switching double ended Cuk converter

2009 4th IEEE Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications, 2009
This paper presents a zero voltage switching (ZVS) Cuk converter with double ended rectifier to reduce switching losses on power semiconductors, decrease voltage stresses on rectifier diodes and achieve power delivery to output load in positive and negative half cycle of the secondary winding voltage.
