Dual‐Mode Film Based on Highly Scattering Nanofibers and Upcycled Chips‐Bags for Year‐Round Thermal Management

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Intelligent radiative cooling devices, adaptable to various weather conditions, have the potential for year‐round energy savings. This study introduces a sustainable dual‐mode film made from polycaprolactone nanofibers and upcycled chip bags for effective thermal management.

Detecting Current Noise with a Josephson Junction in the Macroscopic Quantum Tunneling Regime

open access: yes, 2006
We discuss the use of a hysteretic Josephson junction to detect current fluctuations with frequencies below the plasma frequency of the junction. These adiabatic fluctuations are probed by switching measurements observing the noise-affected average rate ...

Extension of Zero Voltage Switching Capability for CLLC Resonant Converter [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
TheCLLC resonant converter has been widely used to obtaina high power conversion efficiency with sinusoidal current waveforms and a soft switching capability. However, it has a limited voltage gain range according to the input voltage variation.

Understanding and Optimizing Li Substitution in P2‐Type Sodium Layered Oxides for Sodium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work explores Li‐substituted P2 layered oxides for Na‐ion batteries by crystallographic and electrochemical studies. The effect of lithium on superstructure orderings, on phase transitions during synthesis and electrochemical cycling and on the interplay of O‐ versus TM‐redox is revealed via various advanced techniques, including semi‐simultaneous

A ZVT Auxiliary Circuit for High Step-Up Multi-Input Converters with Diode-Capacitor Multiplier

open access: yesMajlesi Journal of Electrical Engineering
In this paper, a Zero-Voltage Transition (ZVT) non-isolated high step-up multi-input DC-DC converters is proposed which employs an auxiliary cell and diode-capacitor multiplier.

Analysis of Intrinsic Switching Losses in Superjunction MOSFETs Under Zero Voltage Switching

open access: yesEnergies, 2020
Switching losses of power transistors usually are the most relevant energy losses in high-frequency power converters. Soft-switching techniques allow a reduction of these losses, but even under soft-switching conditions, these losses can be significant ...

Phase transitions in single neurons and neural populations: Critical slowing, anesthesia, and sleep cycles [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The firing of an action potential by a biological neuron represents a dramatic transition from small-scale linear stochastics (subthreshold voltage fluctuations) to gross-scale nonlinear dynamics (birth of a 1-ms voltage spike). In populations of neurons

All‐in‐One Analog AI Hardware: On‐Chip Training and Inference with Conductive‐Metal‐Oxide/HfOx ReRAM Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An all‐in‐one analog AI accelerator is presented, enabling on‐chip training, weight retention, and long‐term inference acceleration. It leverages a BEOL‐integrated CMO/HfOx ReRAM array with low‐voltage operation (<1.5 V), multi‐bit capability over 32 states, low programming noise (10 nS), and near‐ideal weight transfer.

A novel soft switching crossing current resonant converter (XCRC) [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
Unlike other resonate or soft-switching converter, this novel topology employs only two switches and a very simply control method. The inherent constant power protection feature is another merit. No special resonate chip is needed to control the circuit.

Zero-voltage-switching DC/AC inverter

open access: yesIET Electric Power Applications, 2007
A novel zero-voltage-switching (ZVS) DC/AC inverter is proposed. The proposed inverter can not only provide output voltage that is higher or lower than DC input voltage but can also use the pulse-width modulation (PWM) control technique. Furthermore, in the proposed inverter, besides operating at constant frequency, all semiconductor devices operate at
