Human flaws and logical tools in engineering

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, Volume 103, Issue 8, Page 3512-3520, August 2025.
Abstract This paper explores the limitations of human cognition, especially in engineering research, emphasizing the need for mathematical models and methods to guide decision‐making and theory validation. While human cognition excels in certain tasks, it is prone to biases that can distort our understanding.

Influência do envelhecimento de catalisadores Ziegler-Natta à base de neodímio sobre a polimerização de 1,3-butadieno Influence of ageing of neodymium based Ziegler-Natta catalyst on butadiene polymerization

Threshold effect of residual catalyst on volume resistivity of polypropylene polymers

open access: yesHigh Voltage, Volume 10, Issue 4, Page 939-952, August 2025.
Abstract Polypropylene (PP) has become the focus of research and development of recyclable polymer dielectric materials because of its excellent electrical and thermal properties. The residual catalyst after PP polymerisation is the main part of ash. It was found that ash particles are uniformly dispersed in the PP matrix.

Preparation of Ultrahigh Molecular Weight Polyethylene/Graphene Nanocomposite In situ Polymerization via Spherical and Sandwich Structure Graphene/Sio2 Support

open access: yesNanoscale Research Letters, 2018
Reduced graphene oxide/SiO2 (RGO/SiO2) serving as a novel spherical support for Ziegler-Natta (Z-N) catalyst is reported. The surface and interior of the support has a porous architecture formed by RGO/SiO2 sandwich structure.

Modeling and Optimization of propylene polymerization with branching [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
A kinetic model has been proposed to fit the experimental data (2003) available from the open literature for branched propylene polymerization system. The present system considered is a binary catalyst system, in which the first catalyst produces the ...

ESR Studies on Ziegler-Natta Catalyst Systems

open access: yesThe Journal of the Society of Chemical Industry, Japan, 1970
