In-situ regulation of zinc metal surface for Dendrite-Free Zinc-ion hybrid supercapacitors
Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 2022Aqueous Zn-ion hybrid supercapacitors (ZHSCs) combine the high power density of supercapacitors with the high energy density of batteries. However, the growth of dendrite and spontaneous Zn corrosion damage the service life of ZHSCs and further seriously restrict their large-scale application in energy storage fields.

Zinc induced apoptotic death of mouse dendritic cells
Apoptosis, 2010Zinc ions (Zn(2+)) are food components with favourable effects in infectious disease. Zn(2+) is taken up into dendritic cells (DCs), key players in the regulation of innate and adaptive immunity. In other cell types, Zn(2+) has been shown to stimulate the formation of ceramide, which is in turn known to trigger suicidal cell death.

Zinc electrode with reduced dendritic propagation
Journal of Power Sources, 2007Microporous separators conventionally used in lead-acid accumulators are proposed to substitute rayon-type separator during discharge of zinc anode alkaline accumulators, while the same accumulator is charged mainly through rayon-type separator. Thus the positive qualities of rayon-type and microporous-type separators are amalgamated.

Characteristics of electrochemically grown dendritic metallic zinc
Optik, 2011Abstract A simple electrochemical process has been implemented to fabricated fractal structured leaf-like metallic zinc. The fabricated material was structurally characterized using X-ray diffraction that reveals the hexagonal unit cell structure. Also the growth of the structure is anisotropic.

Dendrite growth directions in aluminum-zinc alloys
Metallurgical and Materials Transactions A, 2006The dendrite growth directions in fcc aluminum-zinc alloys have been measured by electron backscattered diffraction (EBSD) as a function of the zinc concentration,c o . In specimens produced by directional or Bridgman solidification, 〈100〉 dendrites were observed up to 25 wt pct Zn, whereas ...

Tuning Vertical Electrodeposition for Dendrites-Free Zinc-Ion Batteries
ACS NanoManipulating the crystallographic orientation of zinc deposition is recognized as an effective approach to address zinc dendrites and side reactions for aqueous zinc-ion batteries (ZIBs). We introduce 2-methylimidazole (Mlz) additive in zinc sulfate (ZSO) electrolyte to achieve vertical electrodeposition with preferential orientation of the (100) and ...
