Zinc Oxide and Zinc-Cadmium Oxide Phosphors
Journal of The Electrochemical Society, 1968Zinc oxide phosphors may emit in four different bands, the ultraviolet near‐edge emission, the common green band (possibly involving sulfur), a yellow‐orange band due to selenium, and a red to near infrared band due to ammonia. About 10% of can be replaced by with a corresponding shift, to lower energies, of the optical absorption edge, of the near ...

Nanoscale zinc oxide (ZnO) rods of diameters close to the Bohr-exciton radius ( approximately 2 nm) can be prepared from a simple acetate precursor, resulting in ligand-capped rods of ZnO, highly dispersible in nonpolar solvents. Zinc oxide, ZnO, is a wide band-gap semiconductor with applications in blue/ultraviolet (UV) optoelectronic devices and ...

Bicrystalline Zinc Oxide Nanocombs
Journal of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, 2006Bicrystalline ZnO nanocombs have been prepared by zinc powder evaporation at 650 degrees C. Structural analysis showed that as-synthesized samples are composed of two crystals that form a twin structure parallel to the (113) plane with the growth direction of the branching nanowires and the main stem closely parallel to (0001) and (0110), respectively.

Toxicity of the Zinc Oxide and Vermiculite/Zinc Oxide Nanomaterials
Journal of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, 2019Nanomaterials and nanocomposite materials on the base of zinc oxide (ZnO) are being produced and applied in our daily life at a rapid pace mainly as additives to the different polymer materials. The antibacterial behaviors of ZnO nanoparticles are intensively studied but related health and environmental toxicity assessments are lagging behind.
