Structural characterization of zinc stannate thin films
Journal of Applied Physics, 2002Polycrystalline thin films of Zn2SnO4 were deposited by rf magnetron sputtering onto glass substrates. Films were characterized by θ–2θ x-ray diffraction and by Sn119 conversion electron Mössbauer spectroscopy. The films were randomly oriented in a cubic spinel structure. Comparison of x-ray diffraction peak intensities with structure-factor-calculated

Zinc stannate flakes for optoelectronic and antibacterial applications
AIP Conference Proceedings, 2019In this work we investigated the antibacterial application of zinc stannate grown using hydrothermal method at relatively low temperature of 100 °C. A systematic study was conducted by varying the molarity, pH and Zn/Sn ratio of the precursor solution, to obtain phase pure zinc stannate in one of its form, ZnSnO3.

Photocatalytic activity of zinc stannate: Preparation and modeling
Journal of the Taiwan Institute of Chemical Engineers, 2016Abstract Zn 2 SnO 4 particles with the cubic shape are prepared via a two-step process, including co-precipitation and high-temperature solid state reaction procedures. The prepared photocatalyst has been characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM), UV–vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy and Fourier transform ...

Photocatalysis and luminescence properties of zinc stannate oxides
Ceramics International, 2017Abstract In the present study, ZnO/SnO 2 nanocomposites and Zn 2 SnO 4 powder phosphors were synthesized via a sol–gel method through the control of annealing process. The coupled oxides ZnO/SnO 2 nanopowders formed after annealing at 400–600 °C, and the spinel zinc stannate phase appeared at 700 °C.

The influence of mechanical activation on zinc stannate spinel formation
Journal of the European Ceramic Society, 2001Abstract Mechanical activation of inorganic materials leads to specific changes of their chemical and physical properties. Grinding, as one way of mechanical activation, is a widely used method for obtaining highly dispersed systems, and it could be performed in various types of mills (planetary, centrifugal, vibro-mill, etc.).

Al-doped zinc stannate films for photovoltaic applications
Korean Journal of Chemical Engineering, 2020Al-doped zinc stannate (Zn2SnO4: Al or Zn-Sn-O: Al or AZTO) has attracted considerable attention as a next-generation transparent conducting oxide (TCO) owing to its properties. In this study, AZTO films were deposited by co-sputtering Al-doped zinc oxide (AZO) and SnO2 targets at room temperature.

Hydrothermal synthesis of zinc stannate nanoparticles spectroscopic investigation
Journal of Materials Science: Materials in Electronics, 2017This paper presents the study conducted on the synthesis and the investigations of Zinc stannate nanoparticles. Hydrothermal method was used for the synthesis. Characterizations for the products obtained were done with the help of powder X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, UV–Vis absorption spectroscopy ...

Investigations of diffusion behaviour in Al-doped zinc oxide and zinc stannate coatings
Thin Solid Films, 2011Abstract Multi-layer dielectric/silver/dielectric coating systems have excellent proprieties as heat insulators and for solar energy reflection and electrical conductivity. The largest market is dominated by low-emissivity (low-E) coatings, which are applied to large area architectural glazing to reduce heat losses from buildings.

Phase investigation and crystal structure analysis of zinc stannate (Zn2SnO4)
Physics Letters A, 2020Abstract The space group of zinc stannate (Zn2SnO4) synthesized by one-pot hydrothermal method was often thought to be Fd3m. However, we observed the presence of (200) and (420) diffraction planes via X-ray diffraction and selected area electron diffraction patterns which are forbidden in Fd3m but allowed in F 4 ¯ 3m.

Single crystalline zinc stannate nanoparticles for efficient photo-electrochemical devices
Chemical Communications, 2010Single crystalline zinc stannate (Zn(2)SnO(4) and ZnSnO(3)) nanoparticles were synthesized by a simple one-step hydrothermal reaction with a high production yield. Zn(2)SnO(4) is a (111) face-exposed octahedron, whereas ZnSnO(3) is a (100) face-exposed hexahedron structure.
