The Zintl-Klemm Concept in the Amorphous State: A Case Study of Na-P Battery Anodes. [PDF]
The long‐established Zintl–Klemm concept can be applied to amorphous materials just as well — as is shown here for disordered Na–P phases that are relevant for sodium‐ion battery anodes. Machine‐learning‐driven, quantum‐mechanically accurate simulations yiel insights into structure and bonding, and unlock the atomistic modeling of structural changes ...

Synthesis and Crystal Structure of the Zintl Phases Na2CaCdSb2, Na2SrCdSb2 and Na2EuCdSb2
This work details the synthesis and the crystal structures of the quaternary Zintl phases Na2CaCdSb2, Na2SrCdSb2 and Na2EuCdSb2. They are isostructural and their noncentrosymmetric structure is with the space group Pmc21 (Pearson code oP12).

Synthesis and Crystal and Electronic Structures of the Zintl Phase Sr21Cd4Sb18
Reported herein are the synthesis and crystal chemistry analysis of the Zintl phase Sr21Cd4Sb18. Single crystals of this compound were grown using the Sn-flux method, and structural characterization was carried out using single-crystal X-ray diffraction.

Improved figure of merit (z) at low temperatures for superior thermoelectric cooling in Mg3(Bi,Sb)2
The low-temperature thermoelectric performance of Bi-rich n-type Mg3(Bi,Sb)2 was limited by the electron transport scattering at grain boundaries, while removing grain boundaries and bulk crystal growth of Mg-based Zintl phases are challenging due to the

Ag12[Ge9(Hyp)2]6 An Intermetalloid Cluster with Bis-Silylated Ge9 Units. [PDF]
The reaction of K2Ge9(Hyp)2 (Hyp = Si(SiMe3)3) with phosphine stabilized silver halides gives the new intermetalloid cluster Ag12[Ge9(Hyp)2]6 exhibiting a novel Ag12 core surrounded by six [Ge9(Hyp)2] units acting as ligands. Within the Ag12 core two different kinds of silver atoms are present underlining the intermetalloid character of the cluster ...
