Mesoporous Silicon with Capacity‐Limited Lithiation: A Strategy for Stable High‐Capacity Lithium‐Ion Anodes

open access: yesEnergy Technology, EarlyView.
Pairing mesoporous silicon with capacity‐limited lithiation increases stability in high‐Si composite anodes. Across four lithiation degrees, porous Si suppresses crystalline Li15Si4 formation, lowers polarization, and exhibits far less irreversible thickening than bulk micro‐Si particles, as confirmed by scanning electron microscopy thickness analysis.

Kinetic activation of interfacial Li2S via zirconia membrane reactor confinement catalysis for high‐performance lithium/sulfur batteries

open access: yesInfoMat, EarlyView.
Sluggish Li2S precipitation/dissolution kinetics and poor interfacial reversibility critically hinder the rate performance and cycling stability of Li/S batteries. Here, we design a zirconia membrane reactor (ZMR) composed of ZrO2/N‐doped carbon nanofibers (ZONC) to precisely modulate the SRR/SER kinetics and reversibility—especially the rate ...

High‐entropy oxides for electrochemical energy storage and conversion devices

open access: yesInfoMat, EarlyView.
This review presents high‐entropy oxides (HEOs) by emphasizing their applications in electrochemical energy storage and conversion systems. The authors examine the historical evolution, fundamental effects, and structural properties of the HEOs family. Focus is directed towards the structure–property interactions that allow HEOs to improve performance ...

Assessment of engineered sustainable nitrogen fertilizers on lettuce development using physical sampling and image‐based phenotyping

open access: yesJournal of Environmental Quality, EarlyView.
Abstract Efficient and sustainable nitrogen (N) management is critical for addressing the dual challenges of maximizing productivity and mitigating environmental impacts in short‐cycle crops like lettuce (Lactuca sativa). This study evaluates the agronomic performance and nutrient dynamics of eight N fertilizer treatments, including mechanochemically ...
