Application of Plasma-Sprayed Zirconia Coating in Dental Implants: Study in Implants

open access: yes, 2018
The aim was to investigate the osseointegration of a novel coating—plasma-sprayed nanostructured zirconia (NSZ)—for dental implants. Nanostructured zirconia coating on non-thread titanium implant was prepared by plasma spraying, and the implant surface ...

Rational Design Strategies Toward Efficient and Stable Electrocatalysts for Hydrogen Production via Water Electrolysis: A Comprehensive Review

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Active and stable electrocatalysts are critical for sustainable hydrogen production, particularly for high‐current‐density water electrolysis and specialized applications like seawater splitting. However, most water‐splitting electrocatalysts show limited activity at high current densities and poor long‐term stability, making it difficult to ...

Femtosecond laser microstructuring of zirconia dental implants

open access: yesJournal of Biomedical Materials Research Part B: Applied Biomaterials, 2010
AbstractThis study evaluated the suitability of femtosecond laser for microtexturizing cylindrical zirconia dental implants surface. Sixty‐six cylindrical zirconia implants were used and divided into three groups: Control group (with no laser modification), Group A (microgropored texture), and Group B (microgrooved texture).

Recent Advances and Challenges in Single‐Atom Catalysts for Thermocatalytic CO2 Hydrogenation

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Single‐atom catalysts (SACs) offer atomically precise platforms to control thermocatalytic CO2 hydrogenation pathways. This Review highlights how coordination environment, charge transfer, and metal–support interactions govern selectivity from CO to CH4, CH3OH, and C2+ products.

A Comprehensive Multimodal Study of La0.45Sr0.45TiO3 Structure as Matrix for the Exsolution Process: From the Average to the Local Scale

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
We present a multimodal, multiscale study of La0.45Sr0.45TiO3 combining experimental and computational approaches to probe its local structure. The results reveal A‐site ordering along [001] and loss of centrosymmetry driven by electrostatic effects.

Future prospects of zirconia for oral implants —A review

open access: yesDental Materials Journal, 2020
Zirconia have been applied to dental implants as well as fixed dental prostheses due to their mechanical, esthetic and biocompatible performance. Moreover, they offer an advantage over titanium (Ti) implants, in that there is no risk of discoloration or hypersensitive reaction with allergy.
