Dose-response effect of chlorhexidine on a multispecies oral biofilm formed on pure titanium and on a titanium-zirconium alloy

Biofouling (Print), 2018
This study aimed to test the dose-response effect of chlorhexidine on multispecies biofilms formed on commercially pure titanium (cpTi) and titanium-zirconium (TiZr) alloy.

Zirconium and Zirconium Alloys

2018
Fundamental properties of all metallic elements are covered systematically and comprehensively in Chap. 4. This chapter describes zirconium as both a pure and a low-alloying element of metallic materials in Sects. 8.1 and 8.2. The further sections cover its main applications, in nuclear technology (Sect.

The alloy systems zirconium-cerium and zirconium-lead

Calphad, 1998
Abstract The phase diagrams of the systems zirconium-cerium and zirconium-lead have been determined mainly by the method of quenching and microscopic examination. The zirconium α→β transformation in the zirconium-cerium system is lowered and is completed by a eutectoid reaction; there are no intermetallic compounds and a range of liquid immiscibility

A Study on Zirconium Rich Uranium–Zirconium Alloys

Transactions of the Indian Institute of Metals, 2013
Uranium–zirconium alloy is the potential candidate materials as metallic fuels for nuclear reactor applications. Along with other properties, volumetric stability is an important issue for these types of fuels. In this work investigations were carried out on the zirconium rich uranium–zirconium alloys (i.e.

Alloys with Zirconium

1991
Superconductivity in rhodium-zirconium alloys was discovered by [1]. This has encouraged a number of investigations on the equilibrium diagram [2 to 5]. These resulted in the diagram shown in [6]. The diagram shown in Fig. 72 and Fig. 73, p. 116, is the result of the most complete investigation so far carried out using differential thermal analysis ...

Mössbauer spectroscopy of zirconium alloys

Hyperfine Interactions, 2013
Mossbauer investigations of zirconium alloys were examined. Data about the chemical state of iron atoms in the zirconium alloys of different composition has been provided. Mossbauer spectroscopy revealed that small quantities of iron in binary zirconium alloy are in the solid solution α-Zr (up to 0.02 wt.%).

Zirconium and Zirconium Alloy Castings

2008
Abstract This article describes typical foundry practices used to commercially produce zirconium castings. The foundry practices are divided into two sections, namely, melting and casting. The article discusses various melting processes, such as vacuum arc skull melting, induction skull melting, and vacuum induction melting, and various ...

One-year follow-up of titanium/zirconium alloy X commercially pure titanium narrow-diameter implants placed in the molar region of the mandible: a randomized controlled trial.

Clinical Oral Implants Research, 2016
OBJECTIVE To analyze marginal bone loss (MBL) and clinical parameters around narrow-diameter implants (NDIs - 3.3 mm) made of titanium/zirconium alloy (TiZr) in comparison with commercially pure titanium (cpTi) installed in the molar region of the ...

The determination of traces of boron in zirconium and zirconium alloys

The Analyst, 1963
A general procedure is given for the determination of B, down to 0.2 ppm, in Zr and Zr alloys. Separation of the B is not necessary, the B-curcumin complex being formed directly in an aliquot of the metal sulfate solution. An interference effect has been noted when analyzing Zr alloys containing Sn.

Mechanistic Understanding of Zirconium Alloy Fuel Cladding Performance

, 2018
A review is presented of work performed in our group over the years in the areas of radiation damage, corrosion, hydrogen pickup, hydriding, and the mechanical behavior of zirconium alloy nuclear fuel cladding with the goal of developing a greater ...
