Iron and zinc grain density in common wheat grown in Central Asia [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Sixty-six spring and winter common wheat genotypes from Central Asian breeding programs were evaluated for grain concentrations of iron (Fe) and zinc (Zn). Iron showed large variation among genotypes, ranging from 25 mg kg1 to 56 mg kg1 (mean 38 mg kg1).

The response of chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla L.) plants to soil zinc supply

open access: yesPlant, Soil and Environment, 2006
A pot experiment was conducted to investigate the influence of varying supplies of Zn (50-150-300 mg/kg soil - Orthic Luvisol) on the uptake of Zn by plants, selected productive parameters and production of secondary metabolites in Matricaria chamomilla ...

First-principles study of possible shallow donors in ZnAl2O4 spinel [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
ZnAl2O4 (gahnite) is a ceramic which is considered a possible transparent conducting oxide (TCO) due to its wide band gap and transparency for UV. Defects play an important role in controlling the conductivity of a TCO material along with the dopant ...

Europium(III) Macrocyclic Chelates Appended with Tyrosine-based Chromophores and Di-(2-picolyl)amine-based Receptors: Turn-On Luminescent Chemosensors Selective to Zinc(II) Ions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
[Abstract] Zinc ions play an important role in many biological processes in the human body. To selectively detect Zn²⁺, two EuDO3A‐based complexes (DO3A=1,4,7,10‐tetraazacyclododecane‐1,4,7‐tricarboxylic acid) appended with tyrosine as a chromophore and ...
