In silico and in vitro exploration of a tyrosinase for biocatalytic production of catechols

Environmental impact assessment was conducted at the Ohitachi Mine (Cu-Zn-Pb) located in Odate, Akita Prefecture, Japan. Zn concentration in river water exceeded the environmental standard (30 µg/L) even in the downstream of the Mine.

Electrophotoluminescence (GUDDEN—PoHL-Effect) was observed with ZnS: Al, Zn single crystals. The effect is restricted to a narrow range near the anode, in agreement with previous assumptions. The dependence of the effect on bias voltage, temperature, duration of dark interval and excitation is investigated and discussed.
