Zn-Doped CoS2 Nanoarrays for an Efficient Oxygen Evolution Reaction: Understanding the Doping Effect for a Precatalyst

open access: yes, 2022
Development of low-cost, efficient, and durable electrocatalysts for the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) is crucial for multiple energy conversions and storage devices.

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

Understanding the Role of Single Molecular ZnS Precursors in the Synthesis of In(Zn)P/ZnS Nanocrystals

open access: yesACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, 2014
Environmentally friendly nanocrystals (NCs) such as InP are in demand for various applications, such as biomedical labeling, solar cells, sensors, and light-emitting diodes (LEDs). To fulfill their potential applications, the synthesis of such high-quality "green" InP NCs required further improvement so as to achieve better stability, higher brightness

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

Rhizosphere characteristics, heavy metal accumulation and growth performance of two willow (Salix × rubens) clones

open access: yesPlant, Soil and Environment, 2006
High-biomass tree species holds promise for a clean up of metal contaminated soils. Root and fungal activities modify soil characteristics that are important factors for the phytoextraction process (metal availability and toxicity).

Planar Functions from Zn to Zn

open access: yesJournal of Algebra, 2000
AbstractIn this paper, we show that there are no planar functions from Z3pq to Z3pq where p and q are distinct primes larger than 3. As a result, there are only two undecided cases for planar functions from Zn to Zn if n is not a prime and n≤50,000.

Grain Zn concentrations and yield of Zn-biofortified versus Zn-efficient rice genotypes under contrasting growth conditions

open access: yes, 2019
Higher grain Zn concentration in ‘biofortified’ rice genotypes, bred for high grain Zn concentration, should not be at the expense of reduced grain yield.

USP29‐regulated noncanonical stabilization of the hypoxia‐inducible factor‐α in aggressive prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We identify USP29 as the only DUB mirroring CA9 expression, a marker of hypoxia and HIF pathway activation associated with PCA aggressiveness. USP29 stabilizes HIF‐1α and HIF‐2α via a noncanonical mechanism that is independent of PHD/pVHL activity yet relies on proteasomal regulation, establishing USP29 as a previously unrecognized regulator of hypoxic
