Mathematical model predicting the heat and power dissipated in an electro-conductive contact in a hybrid woven fabric [PDF]
Electro-conductive (EC) yarns can be woven into a hybrid fabric to enable electrical current to flow through the fabric from one component A to another component B. These hybrid fabrics form the bases of woven e-textiles.

Microstructural Characterization of ZnO Varistors.
Two kinds of commercial ZnO system varistors were investigated with relevance to their microstructures. Particularly, face-to-face fracture surfaces were characterized in terms of secondary electron image and backscatterd electron image to clarify the existence of precipitates at the grain-to-grain interface.

Computer Simulation of ZnO Varistors Failures [PDF]
ABSTRACTA simple thermo-mechanical model is applied to evaluate the influence of the nonuni-formity of ZnO varistor disks used in surge arresters on their energy handling capability. By solving heat transfer equations for a varistor disk with nonuniform electrical properties, we compute the time dependence of the temperature profile and the ...

Non-Linear I-V Characteristics of Double Schottky Barriers and Polycrystalline Semiconductors
An attempt to determine theoretically the highly non-linear current-voltage (I-V) characteristics of polycrystalline semiconductors, such as ZnO-based varistors, is made from the electrical properties of individual grain boundaries under dc bias.
