Linking neurogenesis, oligodendrogenesis, and myelination defects to neurodevelopmental disruption in primary mitochondrial disorders

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial remodeling shapes neural and glial lineage progression by matching metabolic supply with demand. Elevated OXPHOS supports differentiation and myelin formation, while myelin compaction lowers mitochondrial dependence, revealing mitochondria as key drivers of developmental energy adaptation.

Optimal Distributed Control of AC Microgrids With Coordinated Voltage Regulation and Reactive Power Sharing

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Smart Grid, 2022
In this paper, we propose an optimal distributed voltage control for grid-forming (GFM) inverters in islanded AC microgrids. An optimization problem is formulated where the distributed generator (DG) output voltage is considered as the control variable ...

Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.

Electricity Network Investment and Regulation for a Low Carbon Future [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
The requirement for significantly higher electricity network investment in the UK seems certain as the capacity of distributed generation and large scale renewables increases on the system.

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

Analysis of a PWM Resonant Buck Chopper for Use as a Ship Service Converter Module [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
The Navy's interest in implementing a DC Zonal Electric Distribution System (DC ZEDS) in the next generation of surface combatant has motivated considerable research work into dc-dc converters.

Checkpoint blockade and the stem‐like T cell trade‐off

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Stem‐like T cells are key to the success of programmed cell death protein 1 (PD1) blockade, as they sustain long‐term anti‐tumor response by continuously generating effector CD8+ T cells. However, how these cells are maintained in cancer is not fully understood. Hor et al.

Microglial dynamics and ferroptosis induction in human iPSC‐derived neuron–astrocyte–microglia tri‐cultures

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
A tri‐culture of iPSC‐derived neurons, astrocytes, and microglia treated with ferroptosis inducers as an Induced ferroptosis model was characterized by scRNA‐seq, cell survival, and cytokine release assays. This analysis revealed diverse microglial transcriptomic changes, indicating that the system captures key aspects of the complex cellular ...
