Zone Plate Interferometer

open access: yesApplied Optics, 1974
A developed form of the Fresnel zone-plate interferometer is described. Three basic configurations are distinguished, associated with the real and virtual first order foci of a zone plate. Related versions and higher order variants are also educed. Compensated phase zone plates used in this application are found to produce uniform amplitude wavefronts.

Cantor dust zone plates

open access: yesOptics Express, 2013
In this paper we use the Cantor Dust to design zone plates based on a two-dimensional fractal for the first time. The pupil function that defines the coined Cantor Dust Zone Plates (CDZPs) can be written as a combination of rectangle functions. Thus CDZPs can be considered as photon sieves with rectangular holes. The axial irradiances produced by CDZPs

Electromyography of the muscle spindle

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2022
In needle electromyography, there are two spontaneous waveforms, miniature end plate potentials and “end plate spikes”, appearing usually together.

High efficiency and low absorption Fresnel compound zone plates for hard X-ray focusing

open access: yes, 2005
Circular and linear zone plates have been fabricated on the surface of silicon crystals for the energy of 8 keV by electron beam lithography and deep ion plasma etching methods.

Bidirectional Loading of the Subduction Interface: Evidence From the Kinematics of Slow Slip Events

open access: yesGeochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, 2020
Subduction zones host some of Earth's most damaging natural hazards, including megathrust earthquakes and earthquake‐induced tsunamis. A major control on the initiation and rupture characteristics of subduction megathrust earthquakes is how the coupled ...

Erratic and blood vessel-guided migration of astrocyte progenitors in the cerebral cortex

open access: yesNature Communications, 2022
During development, astrocytes are generated from radial glia, and migrate to the cortical plate, but the process of astrocyte migration during development is not fully understood.

Fresnel zone plate telescopes for X-ray imaging II: numerical simulations with parallel and diverging beams [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
We present the results of simulations of shadows cast by a zone plate telescope which may have one to four pairs of zone plates. From the shadows we reconstruct the images under various circumstances.

Utilizing the phenomenon of diffraction for noise protection of roadside objects

open access: yesNoise Mapping
Presented here is a constructive solution to the challenge of utilizing the diffraction phenomenon for mitigating noise around roadside objects caused by the movement of vehicles on transportation routes.

Seismicity along the Western Eurasia- Africa plate boundary [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
extends from the Azores Islands to the Strait of Gibraltar. The interaction between Iberia and Africa results in a complex region located in the western part of the Eurasian-African plate boundary.
