Successes and opportunities for solutions‐oriented conservation research: Lessons learned from avian science

Conservation science struggles with an ongoing divide between research and action. We discussed examples of successful solutions‐oriented avian conservation science. Challenges and recommendations for improving the caviar labeling system

The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Red List classifies sturgeon as the most endangered species. Illegal trade still poses a significant threat today. In 2000, a universal labeling system was introduced for the international caviar trade. This letter discusses the current state of labeling and suggests ways to improve it.
