Trophic Plasticity of the Invasive Redbelly Tilapia (<i>Coptodon zillii</i>) in China Inferred From DNA Metabarcoding Analysis. [PDF]
The feeding patterns of invasive populations of C. zillii in different habitats and seasons within a large‐scale geographic area (spanning 9.86° latitude and 10.47° longitude) in China were directly compared. ABSTRACT The redbelly tilapia (Coptodon zillii) is one of the most dangerous invasive alien fishes in the world.

Stress-linked morphological change associated with rearing techniques of hatchery-reliant endemic landlocked Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar m. sebago). [PDF]
Abstract Domestication effects caused by hatchery rearing impact various traits in fishes. Lake Saimaa landlocked salmon (Salmo salar m. sebago) have been dependent on hatchery propagation for over 50 years. The population is therefore at risk of hatchery‐induced phenotypes, which can be suboptimal in the wild, thus impacting the long‐term viability of

Differential effects of freshwater browning across fish species: consequences for individual- to community-level fish traits in north temperate lakes. [PDF]
ABSTRACT The browning of freshwater ecosystems is increasingly evident in temperate and northern regions, with widespread ramifications for lake physics, chemistry, and biology. Contrasting results on how freshwater browning may impact fish have been reported, but there has been no comprehensive examination of how browning may cause cascading effects ...

Sediment Characteristics in Stonewort <i>Chara Tomentosa</i> Assemblages. [PDF]
The study investigated sediment characteristics associated with Chara tomentosa. The results show that sediment grain size and the concentration of the dissolved phosphate in the porewater differ in the seafloor areas characterised by C. tomentosa from adjacent areas at similar depth, but without charophytes.

Zooming in the plastisphere: the ecological interface for phytoplankton-plastic interactions in aquatic ecosystems. [PDF]
ABSTRACT Phytoplankton is an essential resource in aquatic ecosystems, situated at the base of aquatic food webs. Plastic pollution can impact these organisms, potentially affecting the functioning of aquatic ecosystems. The interaction between plastics and phytoplankton is multifaceted: while microplastics can exert toxic effects on phytoplankton ...

The Feeding Behaviour of Fish from the Upper Lake Baikal Watershed of the Eroo River in Mongolia [PDF]
The upper Selenge watershed in Mongolia is home to some of the world’s unique fish species. In this study we determined the feeding behaviour of selected fish species collected from the main stream of the Eroo River and two of its upstream tributaries,

Modern state of plankton and benthos of large fishery water bodies in Vologda region
The paper deals with monitoring results of phytoplankton, zooplankton and zoobenthos of the Sheksna reservoir, lakes Kubenskoye and Vozhe in Vologda Oblast in 2018–2022. The highest biomass of algae was recorded in lake Beloye (10.1 g/m3 ).
