Environmental Risk Assessment of Genetically Engineered Herbicide‐Tolerant Zoysia japonica

Journal of Environmental Quality, 2008
AbstractHerbicide‐tolerant Zoysia grass (Zoysia japonica Steud.) has been generated previously through Agrobacterium tumefaciens‐mediated transformation. The genetically modified (GM) Zoysia grass survived Basta spraying and grew to maturity normally while the wild‐type (WT) grass stopped growing and died.

Dissolution of cellulose from AFEX-pretreated Zoysia japonica in AMIMCl with ultrasonic vibration

Carbohydrate Polymers, 2013
In this study, 1-allyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride (AMIMCl), an ionic liquid, was synthesized and characterized by a series of test methods. Pretreatment of Zoysia japonica by ammonia fiber expansion (AFEX) was shown to reduce significantly the mass of hemicellulose and lignin in biomass, thereby breaking the lignocellulosic structure. Z.

Effects of Chemical Treatments on Seed Germination of Zoysia (<i>Zoysia japonica </i>Steud.)

Advanced Materials Research, 2013
Zoysia (Zoysia japonica Steud.) is a warm-season turf grass, which possess seed coat-imposed dormancy that hampers germination. The objective of the present study was to determine the most effective methods in breaking the seed dormancy of zoysia. This experiment was used to find the right concentration and treatment time.

An AFLP‐based linkage map of Zoysiagrass (Zoysia japonica)

Plant Breeding, 2004
AbstractTo construct an amplified‐fragment length polymorphism (AFLP)‐based molecular linkage map of zoysiagrass, the selfed progenies of a clone consisting of 78 individuals were analysed using 471 AFLP markers derived from 126 PstI/MseI primer combinations. Of these markers, 364 were grouped into 26 linkage groups.

Zoysia japonica MYC type transcription factor ZjICE1 regulates cold tolerance in transgenic Arabidopsis.

Plant Science, 2019
ICE1 (Inducer of CBF Expression 1) is a regulator of cold-induced transcriptome, which plays an important role in plant cold response pathway. To enhance the cold tolerance of Zoysia japonica, one of the warm-season turfgrasses, it is helpful to ...

[Study on germination rate of zoysia (Zoysia japonica Steud.) seeds using near infrared reflectance spectroscopy].

Guang pu xue yu guang pu fen xi = Guang pu, 2015
With 37 zoysia seed samples with different germination rates ranging from 58.5% to 92%, harvested in different years from 2009 to 2011 and from different locations of China, a model for determining germination rate of zoysia seeds was tried to be built by near infrared reflectance spectroscopy with quantitative partial least squares (QPLS).

Separation and recovery of cellulose from Zoysia japonica by 1-allyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride

Carbohydrate Polymers, 2013
We investigated the use of ionic liquid (IL) 1-allyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride (AMIMCl) for extracting cellulose from Zoysia japonica by using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance, scanning electron microscopy and thermogravimetric analysis to analyze the IL and its effects on cellulose extraction.
