In conventional tungsten oxide-based electrochromic batteries (ECBs), tungsten oxide acts as the cathode and Zn foil as the anode, but low redox potential leads to a limited discharge plateau, low areal capacitance, and power density, restricting ...

Experiments and thermophysical simulations were conducted to investigate the electron beam powder bed fusion electron beam (PBF‐EB/M) process for the γ′‐strengthened nickel‐based superalloy Inconel 738LC. The results demonstrate the impact of process‐induced microstructural variations on high‐temperature mechanical behavior, providing a basis for ...

Manufacturing problems such as heat treatment‐induced cracking hinder the widespread application of the laser powder bed fusion (LPBF) process to superalloys. In this study, cracks in the LPBF components of Inconel 738LC superalloy are characterized after heat treatment at various temperature ranges, revealing two distinct cracking behaviors.

Electrochromism via reversible electrodeposition of solid iodine
Electrochromic materials were discovered in the 1960s when scientists observed reversible changes between the light and dark states in WO3 thin films under different voltages.

Ferroelectricity in Antiferromagnetic Wurtzite Nitrides
We establish MnSiN2${\rm MnSiN}_2$ and MnGeN2${\rm MnGeN}_2$ as aristotypes of a new multiferroic wurtzite family that simultaneously exhibits ferroelectricity and antiferromagnetism with altermagnetic spin splitting. By strategically substituting alkaline‐earth metals, we predict new materials with coexisting switchable polarization, spin texture, and

Electrolytic Recovery of High Purity Zr from Radioactively Contaminated Zr Alloys in Chloride Salts
It has been believed that high purity Zr metal is hard to be prepared from Zr alloys in LiCl-KCl salts since Zr has various redox reactions in LiCl-KCl including insoluble ZrCl formation and disproportionate reaction between Zr and Zr4+.

Significant nanoscale oxygen diffusion coefficient variations are measured in ferroelectric hafnium zirconium oxide films with grain boundaries and electrode interfaces exhibiting values 104 times larger than the grain cores. Overall coefficients are 10X larger for films prepared with metal nitride electrodes compared to refractory metals. New insights

Non-LTE LINE FORMATION FOR Zr I/II IN COOL STARS
Non-local thermodynamical equilibrium (non-LTE) line formation for neutral and singly-ionized zirconium is considered for the first time through a range of stellar parameters when the Zr abundance varies from the solar value down to [Zr/H] = - 3.
