Coin-Cell-Based In Situ Characterization Techniques for Li-Ion Batteries

open access: yesFrontiers in Energy Research, 2018
In situ characterization techniques have made a significant progress in recent years, especially in the electrochemical field. For Li-ion batteries, in situ characterization techniques refer to using analytical equipment to directly characterize ...

The effect of Zr addition on the laser welding of SiCp/2A14Al composite

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology, 2021
Zr foil was applied in the laser welding of SiCp/2A14Al composites. The Al4C3 phase and pores was decreased in the fusion zone with Zr addition. The area of fusion zone decreased with the amount of Zr addition.

High-pressure neutron study of the morphotropic PZT: phase transitions in a two-phase system [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
In piezoelectric ceramics the changes in the phase stabilities versus stress and temperature in the vicinity of the phase boundary play a central role. The present study was dedicated to the classical piezoelectric, lead-zirconate-titanate (PZT) ceramic ...

Line Saturation Thickness Calculation for Zirconium and Hafnium in Zircon Sand Samples and Its Application

open access: yesYankuang ceshi, 2014
For the determination of Zr in Zircon sand, the spectral line of Zr is mainly used. However, the spectral line of Zr Kα does not reach the saturation thickness for the fused bead, which leads to poor linearity and large errors in the results.

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Modification of morphology of thin nickel and zirconium films on naturally oxidized silicon substrates by annealing in vacuum

open access: yesSt. Petersburg Polytechnical University Journal: Physics and Mathematics
The article presents a technique for fabricating nickel island films on oxidized silicon substrates by thermal dewetting of continuous coatings. First, continuous nickel films 5 nm thick were deposited by magnetron sputtering.

Effect of Zr on microstructure and properties of TC4 alloy fabricated by laser additive manufacturing

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology, 2023
In this paper, the effect of Zr on the microstructure of laser additive manufactured Ti–6Al–4V (TC4) alloy is studied by adding different contents of Zr (0%, 15%, 30%, 45%), and the mechanisms of strengthening and corrosion passivation are also discussed.

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

Superconductivity in the $\eta$-carbide-type oxides Zr4Rh2Ox

open access: yes, 2019
We report on the synthesis and the superconductivity of Zr$_4$Rh$_2$O$_{x}$ ($x$ = 0.4, 0.5, 0.6, 0.7, 1.0). These compounds crystallize in the $\eta$-carbide structure, which is a filled version of the complex intermetallic Ti$_2$Ni structure.

Behavior and Impact of Zirconium in the Soil–Plant System: Plant Uptake and Phytotoxicity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Because of the large number of sites they pollute, toxic metals that contaminate terrestrial ecosystems are increasingly of environmental and sanitary concern (Uzu et al. 2010, 2011; Shahid et al. 2011a, b, 2012a).
