Synthesis and characterization of [BaO-(10-x)ZrO2-TiO2-SiO2-xCrO3] type glass and glass ceramics

open access: yesJournal of Asian Ceramic Societies, 2020
Various glass compositions were prepared in a glassy system [25BaCO3-(10-x) ZrO2-20TiO2-45SiO2-xCrO3] (x = 0, 2, 4, and 6) using melt-quenching technique. XRD patterns of glass and glass ceramics showed amorphous and crystalline nature.

Analysis of the Electrochemical Stability of Sulfide Solid Electrolyte Dry Films for Improved Dry‐Processed Solid‐State Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An adapted processing for solvent‐free argyrodite solid electrolyte films based on insights into degradation mechanisms of the widely used binder polytetrafluoroethylene is presented. By adapting the dry film processing, long‐term cycling in Si||NMC pouch cells is demonstrated over more than 1000 cycles with a capacity retention of more than 80%, and ...

Particle size effect of ZrO2 supports on catalytic liquid-phase oxidation of phenol over Pt/CeO2-ZrO2-Bi2O3/ZrO2 catalysts

open access: yesJournal of Asian Ceramic Societies, 2020
The size effect of the ZrO2 support on the catalytic activity for the liquid-phase oxidation of phenol was demonstrated over Pt/CeO2-ZrO2-Bi2O3/ZrO2-X catalysts. Here, we selected six types of size-controlled ZrO2-X (X: A–F) (ZrO2-A: 35 nm, ZrO2-B: 22 nm,

Electro‐Active Polymer Actuated Microfiltration Membranes: Design, Performance, and Particle Dynamics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The concept of foulant particle manipulation and detachment from active microfiltration membranes via voltage‐driven vibrations is introduced. Actuator components are initially integrated onto the filtration membranes using an airbrush spray printing technique.

Fractographic Analysis of Tensile Failures of Zirconia Epoxy Nanocomposites

open access: yesمجلة بغداد للعلوم, 2022
This work characterizes the fractographic features of the neat epoxy and ZrO2 epoxy nanocomposites. All samples were subjected to a tensile test to determine the tensile strength and tensile modulus.

Electronic structure and phase stability of oxide semiconductors: Performance of dielectric-dependent hybrid functional DFT, benchmarked against $GW$ band structure calculations and experiments [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We investigate band gaps, equilibrium structures, and phase stabilities of several bulk polymorphs of wide-gap oxide semiconductors ZnO, TiO2,ZrO2, and WO3. We are particularly concerned with assessing the performance of hybrid functionals built with the

Electron–Matter Interactions During Electron Beam Nanopatterning

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This article reviews the electron–matter interactions important to nanopatterning with electron beam lithography (EBL). Electron–matter interactions, including secondary electron generation routes, polymer radiolysis, and electron beam induced charging, are discussed.

Light-induced oxidative transformation of diphenylamine on ZrO2. Synergism by ZnO and ZnS [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Serbian Chemical Society, 2015
Diphenylamine (DPA) in ethanol on the surface of ZrO2 undergoes photoinduced oxidative transformation yielding N-phenyl-p-benzoquinonimine (PBQ). The light-induced transformation on ZrO2 enhances with [DPA], ZrO2-loading, airflow rate and photon
