Bioinspired Materials, Designs, and Manufacturing Strategies for Advanced Impact‐Resistant Helmets
This review explores how bioinspired materials, structures, and manufacturing strategies transform helmet design to achieve enhanced impact resistance. Drawing inspiration from nacre, porcupine quills, beetle exoskeletons, and skull architectures, it highlights advances in auxetic lattices, nanocomposites, and functionally graded foams.

Abstract With increased urbanization, fires in the wildland urban interface (WUI) have become a severe problem worldwide. The unique features of WUI may influence the atmospheric flows in the vicinity of fire. This study utilizes the parallelized large eddy simulation model (PALM) system for fire‐atmosphere simulations of Bottle Lake Forest ...

Motion of condensates in non-Markovian zero-range dynamics
Condensation transition in a non-Markovian zero-range process is studied in one and higher dimensions. In the mean-field approximation, corresponding to infinite range hopping, the model exhibits condensation with a stationary condensate, as in the ...

Abstract The problem of deriving a gradient flow structure for the porous medium equation which is thermodynamic, in that it arises from the large deviations of some microscopic particle system is studied. To this end, a rescaled zero‐range process with jump rate g(k)=kα,α>1$g(k)=k^\alpha, \alpha >1$ is considered, and its hydrodynamic limit and ...

NUMERICAL CALCULATION OF 1D ZRP CHAIN ELECTRICAL CONDUCTIVITY
In this paper we present a numerical procedure for calculation of electrical conductivity in a periodic lattice of one-dimensional zero range potentials with a case of dominant impurity scattering. The conductivity was previously obtained in an integral form via an approximate solution of the kinetic Kolmogorov equation.

Enhanced CO2 Adsorption on CeO2/SBA‐15: The Key Role of Oxygen Vacancies
Mesostructured nanocomposites (SBA‐15:CeO2), synthesized via two different methods, are analyzed to highlight their structural and morphological differences. The samples are tested for CO2 adsorption/desorption at 25, 35, 50, and 70 °C, with enhanced adsorption capacity attributed to increased oxygen vacancies induced by the direct synthesis method ...

On ZRP wind input term consistency in Hasselmann equation [PDF]
Abstract. The new ZRP wind input source term (Zakharov et al., 2012) is checked for its consistency via numerical simulation of Hasselmann equation. The results are compared to field experimental data, collected at different sites around the world, and theoretical predictions of self-similarity analysis. Good agreement is obtained for limited fetch and
