Microstructural characterization and mechanical properties of ZTA/ZTA joint brazed by Ni50Ti50 filler metal

Ceramics International, 2021
Abstract Obtaining reliable zirconia-toughened alumina (ZTA) ceramics brazed joints is highly crucial for expanding their applications. ZTA ceramics were successfully brazed with Ni50Ti50 active filler metals. The interfacial microstructure of ZTA/Ni–Ti/ZTA joints was characterised through SEM, EDS, XRD and Raman spectroscopy.

Interfacial microstructure and mechanical properties of ZTA/ZTA joints brazed with Ni-Ti filler metal

Journal of the European Ceramic Society, 2021
Abstract The reliable brazing of the ZTA ceramic joints was successfully obtained using Ni-Ti filler metal. The microstructure and mechanical properties of the joints brazed at different temperatures were investigated. During the process of brazing, both Al2O3 and ZrO2 in the ZTA reacted with the Ni-Ti filler, resulting in the formation of the ...

Strontium hexaaluminate/ZTA composites: Preparation and characterization

Materials Chemistry and Physics, 2019
Abstract In the present study, the preparation of strontium hexaaluminate/ZTA composites via a solid-state reaction was carried out. The effect of 10–40 mass% SrAl12O19 on the microstructure, physical and mechanical properties of the SrAl12O19/ZTA composite were addressed.

Luminescence properties of ZTA ceramics

Journal of Luminescence, 1997
Abstract Two sets of high-density zirconia-toughened alumina ceramics are investigated by photoluminescence experiments. Luminescence of the ceramic can be understood on the basis of mixed luminescence from the A1 2 O 3 and ZrO 2 components. For the former, most details of the luminescence are consistent with the predictions of crystal field theory
