Characterization of a variant isolate of Zucchini yellow mosaic virus infecting green kabocha (Cucurbita maxima L.) in Bogor, Indonesia

Archives of Phytopathology and Plant Protection, 2021
Zucchini yellow mosaic virus (ZYMV) has been reported in Indonesia over the past decade. However, the biological, morphological, and molecular characterizations of Indonesian isolates of this virus have not yet been determined. In this study, we report a

Watermelon Mosaic Virus and Zucchini Yellow Mosaic Virus

2008
Watermelon mosaic virus (WMV) and zucchini yellow mosaic virus (ZYMV) are two major potyviruses infecting cucurbits. WMV is the causal agent of one of the first described cucurbit mosaic virus diseases, while ZYMV emerged as a major cucurbit pathogen causing severe yield losses only in the late 1970s.

Control of Zucchini Yellow Mosaic Virus in Squash by Cross Protection

Plant Disease, 1991
A variant of zucchini yellow mosaic virus ZYMV (ZYMV-WK) that induced mild foliar mottle but not fruit symptoms on cucurbits was selected from a poorly aphid-transmissible isolate that induced severe symptoms. This mild variant could not be differentiated from its originating isolate serologically, by its host range, or by aphid transmissibility.

Current status and molecular characterization of Zucchini yellow mosaic virus (ZYMV) infecting ridge gourd (Luffa acutangula L.) in different regions of Punjab, Pakistan

Pakistan journal of botany, 2021
Zucchini yellow mosaic (ZYMV) included in the genus Potyvirus is one of the most destructive pathogens of cucurbits, including ridge gourd (Luffa acutangula L.) which is widely grown in Indo-Pak subcontinent and can cause significant yield losses ...

Biological variability of potyviruses, an example: zucchini yellow mosaic virus

1992
Potyviruses present an important variability which may affect biological properties such as host range, symptomatology, virulence towards resistance genes, and transmissibility by vectors. A brief account of this potential is presented and illustrated by some aspects of the biological variability of zucchini yellow mosaic virus (ZYMV).

Genome-wide analysis of cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) Lines to identify zucchini yellow mosaic virus resistance loci

Bangladesh Journal of Botany
Zucchini yellow mosaic virus (ZYMV) is one of the most important pathogens that cause yield losses in cucumber. The objectives of this study were to investigate the structure of genetic resistance to ZYMV in cucumber for marker-assisted selection (MAS ...

Detection of Zucchini yellow mosaic virus infecting pumpkin using realtime RT-PCR

The Journal of Agriculture and Development
Zucchini yellow mosaic virus (ZYMV) is a significant pathogen causing yellow mosaic disease in Cucurbitaceae. It can spread rapidly from infected plants to healthy ones or through contaminated seed sources, leading to a substantial reduction in the yield

Biological and Serological Variability of Zucchini Yellow Mosaic Virus in Sudan

Journal of Phytopathology, 1998
AbstractZucchini yellow mosaic potyvirus (ZYMV) is prevalent in different cucurbit growing agro‐ecosystems in Sudan. A study of the biological and serological variability of isolates originating from different regions was conducted to better understand ZYMV epidemiology and to develop adapted and durable control strategies.
