Virus Quantification, Flowering, Yield, and Fruit Quality in Tropical Pumpkin (Cucurbita moschata Duchesne) Genotypes Susceptible or Resistant to Two Potyviruses

open access: yesHortScience, 2020
Infecting cucurbits around the world, Papaya ringspot virus (PRSV) and Zucchini yellow mosaic virus (ZYMV) are members of the genus Potyvirus and family Potyviridae. Tropical pumpkin is grown globally in the lowland humid tropics.

Risk assessment of genetically engineered crops: fitness effects of virus-resistance transgenes in wild Cucurbita pepo [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The development of crops genetically engineered for pathogen resistance has raised concerns that crop-to-wild gene flow could release wild or weedy relatives from regulation by the pathogens targeted by the transgenes that confer resistance ...

Identification of a zucchini yellow mosaic virus infecting squash in Hangzhou

open access: yes浙江大学学报. 农业与生命科学版, 2003
A filamentous virus was isolated from naturally infected squash (Cucuribita moschata L.), showing yellow mosaic in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, in autumn 1999. This virus was found to cause systemic symptoms on all the Cucuribitaceae plants tested.

Detection and Molecular Characterization of Two Potyvirus Species on Cucurbits from Northwestern of Iran [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Genetic Resources, 2021
Cucurbit crops belonging to the family Cucurbitaceae are one the most important horticultural crops worldwide and cultivated widely in Iran. To aim detection and phylogenetic analysis of potyvirus members, during 2015-2016, 215 leaf samples from cucumber,

Response of Some Watermelon Accessions to a Puerto Rico Strain of Zucchini yellow mosaic virus

open access: yesHortScience, 2020
One of the most important members of the Potyviridae is Zucchini yellow mosaic virus (ZYMV). It affects watermelon [Citrullus lanatus (Thunb.) Matsum. & Nakai] as well as other cucurbits in most parts of the world.

Molecular characterisation of Zucchini yellow mosaic virus infecting Cucurbita pepo in Egypt

open access: yesPlant Protection Science, 2021
The complete nucleotide sequence of Zucchini yellow mosaic virus isolate from Egypt (ZYMV-Egz_MT383108) was determined. The sequence comparisons suggested that the isolate belongs to Group A.

Distribution, variabiality and overwintering of Zucchini yellow mosaic virus in the Czech Republic

open access: yesPlant Protection Science, 2002
The incidence of Zucchini yellow mosaic virus (ZYMV) was monitored in the south Moravian region of the Czech Republic during 1997-2001. Crops of gherkin, squash, zucchini and cucumbers were found infected with ZYMV, manifested by symptoms of severe ...

Zucchini Yellow Mosaic Virus Infection Limits Establishment and Severity of Powdery Mildew in Wild Populations of Cucurbita pepo

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2018
Few studies have examined the combined effect of multiple parasites on host fitness. Previous work in the Cucurbita pepo pathosystem indicates that infection with Zucchini yellow mosaic virus (ZYMV) reduces exposure to a second insect-vectored parasite ...

Expression and purification of movement protein of Cucumber green mottle mosaic virus using a plant-virus expression system [PDF]

open access: yesمجله بیوتکنولوژی کشاورزی, 2013
To produce and purify movement protein of Cucumber green mottle mosaic virus (CGMMV MP), a plant viral vector engineered from an in vivo infectious clone of Zucchini yellow mosaic virus (ZYMV) was used.
