Atypical Ductal Hyperplasia Presenting as Pseudomicrocalcifications
A 53-year-old white female on mammography had "suspicious" microcalcifications. Upon excision, these turned out to be pseudomicrocalcifications created by the intraductal cellular proliferations of atypical ductal hyperplasia so dense as to create radiodensities.

Survivin Expression in Atypical Adenomatous Hyperplasia of the Lung [PDF]
Few studies have investigated apoptosis-related factors in atypical adenomatous hyperplasia (AAH) and nonmucinous bronchioloalveolar carcinoma. We studied the expression of survivin, bcl-2, and p53 in 29 AAH lesions (low-grade, 11; high-grade, 18) and 40 nonmucinous BACs using immunohistochemical analysis and of survivin messenger RNA in 6 nonmucinous ...

Model for Predicting Breast Cancer Risk in Women With Atypical Hyperplasia. [PDF]
Purpose Women with atypical hyperplasia (AH) on breast biopsy have an aggregate increased risk of breast cancer (BC), but existing risk prediction models do not provide accurate individualized estimates of risk in this subset of high-risk women. Here, we

Adenosis (Atypical Adenomatous Hyperplasia) of Prostate
It almost exclusively develops in the transition zone often within or adjacent to typical hyperplastic nodules and often multifocal. The prevalence of adenosis in transurethral prostatectomy specimens without cancer ranges from 1.6% to 7.3% (2). It has been detected in up to 33% of radical prostatectomy specimens (3).

Immunophenotype of Atypical Polypoid Adenomyoma of the Uterus: Diagnostic Value and Insight on Pathogenesis [PDF]
Atypical polypoid adenomyoma (APA) is a rare uterine lesion constituted by atypical endometrioid glands, squamous morules, and myofibromatous stroma. We aimed to assess the immunophenotype of the 3 components of APA, with regard to its pathogenesis and ...
