Short-term effect of growth hormone treatment in childhood leukemia survivors with growth hormone deficiency [PDF]

open access: yesAnnals of Pediatric Endocrinology & Metabolism, 2022
Purpose Survivors of childhood leukemia are at risk of growth impairment due to intensive chemotherapy and radiation treatments. This study investigated the auxological and biochemical characteristics of childhood leukemia survivors diagnosed with growth

Effect of growth hormone therapy on Taiwanese children with growth hormone deficiency

open access: yesJournal of the Formosan Medical Association, 2012
Human growth hormone (GH) has been successfully used in children with GH deficiency (GHD). However, there are few published data on the effect of GH in Taiwanese children with GHD.

Growth hormone and Klotho [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Endocrinology, 2013
Acromegaly is characterized by excessively high GH and IGF1 levels. Recent data suggest that soluble Klotho (sKlotho) is also elevated in patients with active acromegaly. sKlotho decreases towards normal following removal of the GH-producing pituitary adenoma. TheKlothogene was identified in mice following its accidental disruption by ectopic DNA.

Adult growth hormone deficiency

open access: yesIndian Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism, 2011
Adult growth hormone deficiency (AGHD) is being recognized increasingly and has been thought to be associated with premature mortality. Pituitary tumors are the commonest cause for AGHD.

From omics to AI—mapping the pathogenic pathways in type 2 diabetes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Integrating multi‐omics data with AI‐based modelling (unsupervised and supervised machine learning) identify optimal patient clusters, informing AI‐driven accurate risk stratification. Digital twins simulate individual trajectories in real time, guiding precision medicine by matching patients to targeted therapies.

Parameters Used for Evaluation of the Response to Treatment with Recombinant Human Growth Hormone in Paediatric and Adult Populations in Poland: Review

open access: yesJournal of Education, Health and Sport
Introduction and purpose  Recombinant human growth hormone (rhGH) therapy has been the standard treatment  for paediatric short stature for many years, and a therapeutic option for the replacement therapy of growth hormone deficiency in the post ...

Response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy in early breast cancers is associated with epithelial–mesenchymal transition and tumor‐infiltrating lymphocytes

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Epithelial–mesenchymal transition (EMT) and tumor‐infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) are associated with early breast cancer response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC). This study evaluated EMT and TIL shifts, with immunofluorescence and RNA sequencing, at diagnosis and in residual tumors as potential biomarkers associated with treatment response.

Growth hormone response to growth hormone-releasing peptide-2 in growth hormone-deficient Little mice

open access: yesClinics, 2012
OBJECTIVE: To investigate a possible direct, growth hormone-releasing, hormone-independent action of a growth hormone secretagogue, GHRP-2, in pituitary somatotroph cells in the presence of inactive growth hormonereleasing hormone receptors.

Peripheral blood proteome biomarkers distinguish immunosuppressive features of cancer progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Immune status significantly influences cancer progression. This study used plasma proteomics to analyze benign 67NR and malignant 4T1 breast tumor models at early and late tumor stages. Immune‐related proteins–osteopontin (Spp1), lactotransferrin (Ltf), calreticulin (Calr) and peroxiredoxin 2 (Prdx2)–were associated with systemic myeloid‐derived ...
