In Situ Amine Formation to Modulate MOF‐Derived PdIn N‐Doped Carbon Catalysts

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 38, Issue 51, 11 September 2026.
An amine‐assisted approach converts PdIn‐MOF into PdIn intermetallic nanoparticles embedded in N‐doped carbon. In situ‐generated amines trigger early Pd nucleation, producing smaller PdIn domains than direct pyrolysis. Amine sterics and basicity tune composition and particle size, while solvent and amine co‐determine textural features.

Acetylene Functionalization of Multiple‐Resonant Materials Enabling Strong Two‐Photon Absorption and Delayed Luminescence With Highly Efficient Exciplex‐Sensitized Electroluminescence

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, Volume 14, Issue 34, 11 September 2026.
Multiple‐resonance thermally activated delayed fluorescent (MR‐TADF) material absorbs two near‐infrared 760 nm photons with cross‐section up to 156 GM, emit 26 nm narrowband green light at 491 nm with unity luminescence quantum yield and electroluminescence efficiency up to 25.2% in organic light‐emitting diode.

Scientific collaboration in data‐intensive research networks: PhD fellows' expectations and early experiences

open access: yesJournal of the Association for Information Science and Technology, Volume 77, Issue 9, Page 1153-1168, September 2026.
Abstract Collaboration has become important at all stages of research careers. In data‐intensive research fields such as wind energy, many PhD fellows are socialized to such collaboration in networks that train a cohort of PhD fellows. Based on interviews with 23 PhD fellows in four wind‐energy training networks, we investigate their expectations and ...

Diversification of the Avarane Skeleton Toward Spiroetherone A

open access: yesChemistryEurope, Volume 4, Issue 9, September 2026.
Molecular complexity and diversity were generated from the avarone skeleton, leading, among other transformations, to an oxaspiro[4.5]dienone via Wagner–Meerwein rearrangements, a popolohuanone E‐like dibenzofuran via a (3+2) dimerization, and a pentacyclic imidate via a tandem PIDA‐mediated alkene–phenol cyclization/Ritter reaction.

Temporal dynamics of insect herbivory in understory trees across temperate and tropical forests

open access: yesEcosphere, Volume 17, Issue 9, September 2026.
Abstract Insect herbivory shapes forest ecosystems by affecting plant growth, nutrient cycling, and regeneration. It is commonly believed that tropical forest understories face greater insect herbivory pressure than their temperate counterparts. Yet, the magnitude of this tropical–temperate contrast remains debated. To address this gap, we examined how
