Performance of β-Glucosidase produced by Ganoderma lucidum using Waste Substrate as Carbon Source

Journal of Biochemistry, Microbiology and Biotechnology, 2013
Oil palm empty fruit bunch (OPEFB) was used for the production of β-glucosidase by Ganoderma lucidum in submerged fermentation. The activity of β-glucosidase had shown an improvement by going from pH 4 to 6 and declined towards alkaline pH. The highest activity (47.75 U/mL) was obtained at pH 6 with 2.0 mm size of substrate’s particle.

Molecular Mechanism for the α-Glucosidase Inhibitory Effect of Wheat Germ Peptides.

Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2021
Wheat germ peptides (WGPs) have various benefits to human health, while their antidiabetes mechanism remains unknown. In this study, the α-glucosidase inhibition activity of WGPs was identified, exhibiting an IC50 value of 6.87 mg/mL.

POTENTIAL INHIBITORS OF α-GLUCOSIDASE AND α-AMYLASE ENZYMES FROM LOCALLY AVAIALABLE FRUIT WASTES BY SOLID STATE FERMENTATION

Chemical and Natural Resources Engineering Journal (Formally known as Biological and Natural Resources Engineering Journal), 2019
ABSTRACT: A   therapeutic   approach   for   treating   diabetes   is   to   decrease   the   post-prandial hyperglycaemia. This is done by retarding the absorption of glucose through the inhibition of the carbohydrate hydrolyzing enzymes, α-amylase and α-glucosidase, in the digestive tract.

Evaluation of flavonoids from banana pseudostem and flower (quercetin and catechin) as potent inhibitors of α-glucosidase: An in silico perspective

Journal of Biomolecular Structure and Dynamics, 2021
The amelioration of postprandial hyperglycemia in diabetic conditions could be accomplished by the inhibition of α-glucosidases, a set of intestinal carbohydrate digestive enzymes responsible for starch hydrolysis and its absorption.

Development of inhibitors against lipase and α-glucosidase from derivatives of monascus pigment

FEMS Microbiology Letters, 2007
New derivatives of monascus pigment were produced during Monascus fermentation by the addition of unnatural amino acids, and the inhibitory activities of the derivatives against diet-related lipase and alpha-glucosidase were tested. Derivatives with penicillamine (H-Pen), cyclohexylalanine (H-Cha), butylglycine (L-t-Bg), and norleucine (H-Nle) showed ...

Induction and preliminary characterization of intracellular β-glucosidases from a cellulolyticStreptomycesstrain

FEMS Microbiology Letters, 1995
The cellulolytic actinomycete Streptomyces sp. QM-B814 possess an intracellular beta-glucosidase system which is induced by cellobiose and carboxymethylcellulose. Maximal beta-glucosidase activity was attained 8-10 h after inducer addition to exponential phase growing cultures. The induction is depressed in the presence of glucose.
