OCIAD2 Stabilizes Integrin β1 Signaling Through SNX17‐Mediated Endosomal Recycling to Lipid Rafts and Modulates Cisplatin Response in HNSCC

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies OCIAD2 as a critical regulator of cisplatin resistance in HNSCC. Mechanistically, OCIAD2 stabilizes integrin β1 through a direct physical interaction and facilitates its SNX17‐dependent endosomal recycling to lipid raft microdomains. Targeting OCIAD2 disrupts integrin β1 trafficking and significantly enhances cisplatin sensitivity,

Chemically modified β-cyclodextrins useful in developing biosensors of agricultural and food relevance [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
β-cyclodextrin (β-CD), a natural, non-toxic cycloeptaamilose macrocycle, is a useful biomatrix for immobilizing enzymes on a biosensor surface because of the affinity of its cavity for hydrophobic guest molecules (e.g., aminoacids). In this work β-CD has

Cooperative Binding of Ferrocenylnaphthalene Diimide Carrying β-Cyclodextrin Converts Double-Stranded DNA to a Rod-Like Structure [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Ferrocenylnaphthalene diimide carrying β-cyclodextrin (β-CD), 1, intercalated into double-stranded DNA with a binding affinity of K = (6.6 ± 0.8) × 104 M–1 and a binding site size of n = 4, with a high positive cooperative parameter of ω = 14.

Protection and Delivery of Phytochemicals from Passive Encapsulation to Guaranteed Self‐Assembly Induced by Amyloid Template for Chronic Disease Prevention via Modulating Microbial‐Host Crosstalk

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The rising incidence of chronic diseases globally has drawn widespread attention to phytochemicals, which exert targeted preventive and alleviating effect by modulating gut microbiota; thus, a potential strategy for precision nutritional interventions is offered.

Synergistic Tuning of Conformational Dynamics, Electron Tunneling, and Substrate Positioning Enhances Electron Transfer in a P450 Chimera for Calcifediol Biosynthesis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A synergistic electron transfer (ET) optimization strategy modulating conformational dynamics, ET pathway, and substrate orientation is proposed for self‐sufficient cytochrome P450s. Guided by this strategy, a P450 variant with improved ET and catalytic efficiency was identified, and the underlying molecular basis was revealed by computational analysis.

Effect of different media additives on capacitation of frozen-thawed ram spermatozoa as a potential replacement for estrous sheep serum [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Capacitation is a key process through which spermatozoa acquire their fertilizing ability. This event is required for the successful application of assisted reproductive technologies such as IVF. The aim of the present study was to investigate the effect

A Renal Clearable Probe for In Vivo Monoamine Oxidase (MAO) Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A renal‐clearable Cy7‐based fluorogenic probe enables rapid and non‐invasive detection of monoamine oxidase (MAO) activity in vivo. Upon MAO‐mediated activation, the fluorescent product is efficiently excreted in urine, allowing direct quantification of enzyme overexpression.

Alternatives to free molecular halogens as chemoselective reactants: Catalysis of organic reactions with reusable complexes of halogen metal salts [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Organometallic complexes of halogen metallic salts have been used as catalysts in different organic reactions, mainly the oxidation of organic compounds. Their use has not only allowed the reduction of the amounts of catalyst (since they can be reused)

FASLG Derived from Fibroblasts in Hydroxyapatite‐Rich Microenvironment Induces Urothelial Anoikis to Trigger Randall's Plaque Exposure

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Randall's plaques (RP) serve as the nidus for calcium oxalate (CaOx) kidney stones. The current study reveals that hydroxyapatite (HAP) crystals activate the THY1–GSK3α/β–β‐catenin axis in renal interstitial fibroblasts (hRIFs), inducing FASLG secretion.

Multi‐Level Confinement Single‐Molecule Charge Transfer Activated PRET for Near‐Infrared Targeted Cell Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The cascade supramolecular assembly of charge‐transfer arrays not only triggered a topological transformation from nanofiber to nanorod and vesicles, but also promoted single‐molecule phosphorescent resonance energy transfer, expanding phosphorescence emission at 500 nm to near‐infrared delayed fluorescence emission at 650 nm with a lifetime of 11.20 ...
