FTIR–PCA Approach on Raw and Thermally Processed Chicken Lipids Stabilized by Nano-Encapsulation in β-Cyclodextrin

open access: yesFoods, 2022
This study evaluated similarities/dissimilarities of raw and processed chicken breast and thigh lipids that were complexed by β-cyclodextrin, using a combined FTIR–PCA technique. Lipid fractions were analyzed as non-complexed and β-cyclodextrin-complexed

The effect of β-cyclodextrin and pH on bifonazole hydrosolubility [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Serbian Chemical Society, 2004
The equlibria of bifonazole in saturated water solution within the pH range 4 to 10 [I = 0.1 mol/dm3 (NaCl); 25 ºC] were studied spectrophotometrically. Based on the equlibrium constants determined in a heterogeneous system, the acidity constant (pKa = 5.

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Buccal Resveratrol Delivery System as a Potential New Concept for the Periodontitis Treatment

open access: yesPharmaceutics, 2021
The health benefits of resveratrol have been proven to inhibit the development of numerous diseases. A frequent limitation in its use is a low bioavailability stemming from a poor solubility and fast enterohepatic metabolism.

Pharmacological chromatin remodeling enhances response to estrogen therapy in ER+ breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Estrogen therapy elicits clinical benefit in ~ 30% of patients with endocrine‐resistant estrogen receptor (ER)‐positive breast cancer. Based on findings that ER transcriptional activation underlies response to estrogen therapy, we tested the effects of epigenetic dysregulation via pharmacological inhibition of histone deacetylases (HDACi).

Fusogenic RNA Nanomodules for Fusion‐Mediated and Multiplexed siRNA Delivery

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A fusogenic lipid‐layered RNA nanomodules (L‐CRAMs) enable high‐capacity and long‐lasting siRNA delivery through membrane fusion. These nanomodules carry exceptionally large siRNA payloads, avoid conventional endosomal uptake, and release multiple functional siRNAs through Dicer‐mediated processing.

Adsorbents based on natural polymers for removal of some heavy metals from aqueous solution

open access: yesEgyptian Journal of Petroleum, 2017
Heavy metal ions are discharged into water from several industries. They are carcinogenic and they cause severe environmental hazards. In the present work the ability of removal of copper and lead from aqueous solutions has been studied using carboxy ...
