Assessment of gut microbial β-glucuronidase and β-glucosidase activity in women with polycystic ovary syndrome

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
PCOS is a prevalent endocrine disorder among women of reproductive age, characterized by hormonal imbalances and metabolic disturbances. This study explores the correlation between gut microbial β-glucuronidase and β-glucosidase and PCOS, focusing on ...

Overexpression of an exotic thermotolerant β-glucosidase in trichoderma reesei and its significant increase in cellulolytic activity and saccharification of barley straw

open access: yesMicrobial Cell Factories, 2012
Background Trichoderma reesei is a widely used industrial strain for cellulase production, but its low yield of β-glucosidase has prevented its industrial value. In the hydrolysis process of cellulolytic residues by T.

β-Glucosidase activity from the thermophilic fungusScytalidium thermophilumis stimulated by glucose and xylose [PDF]

open access: yesFEMS Microbiology Letters, 2004
An inducible mycelial beta-glucosidase from Scytalidum thermophilum was characterized. The enzyme exhibited a pI of 6.5, a carbohydrate content of 15%, and an apparent molecular mass of about 40 kDa. Optima of temperature and pH were 60 degrees C and 6.5, respectively.

Production of β-Glucosidase from a Newly Isolated Aspergillus Species Using Response Surface Methodology

open access: yesInternational Journal of Microbiology, 2011
A newly isolated fungus Aspergillus niger SOI017 was shown to be a good producer of β-glucosidase from all isolated fungal strains. Fermentation condition (pH, cellobiose concentration, yeast extract concentration, and ammonium sulfate concentration) was
