Gemcitabine, Docetaxel, Melphalan, Carboplatin as Part of Sequential Cycles of High‐Dose Chemotherapy With Autologous Hematopoietic Stem‐Cell Rescue for Multiply Relapsed/Refractory Pediatric Germ Cell Tumors

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, Volume 73, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Although most malignant germ cell tumors (GCTs) are highly curable with cisplatin‐based therapy, options for patients with multiply relapsed/refractory disease remain limited. For this population, we report the first pediatric use of gemcitabine, docetaxel, melphalan, and carboplatin (GemDMC) as part of sequential cycles of high‐dose ...

Levels of serum β‐human chorionic gonadotropin after embryo transfer and subsequent miscarriage, pre‐eclampsia, and intrauterine growth restriction

open access: yesHealth Science Reports
Background This study aimed to examine maternal serum concentration of β‐human chorionic gonadotropin (β‐hCG) on Day 16 after embryo transfer and risk of miscarriage, pre‐eclampsia, and intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR).

Epigenetic Perspectives on Maternal Gut Microbiota's Impact on Embryonic and Fetal Development

open access: yesComprehensive Physiology, Volume 16, Issue 3, June 2026.
This review summarizes how maternal health and nutrition shape gut microbiota via epigenetics to regulate embryonic development. It highlights microbiota‐embryo interactions, disruption by prenatal chemical exposures, and personalized nutrition for disease prevention, offering novel insights and therapeutic targets.

Ruptured Ectopic Pregnancy Misdiagnosed with Ruptured Corpus Luteum: A Case Report and Literature Review

open access: yesGynecology and Minimally Invasive Therapy
Ectopic pregnancy can be mistakenly reported as a ruptured corpus luteum. A 22-year-old woman was initially misdiagnosed with a ruptured corpus luteum and treated with analgesics at a local clinic.

Extracranial, Extragonadal Germ Cell Tumors: A Multicenter Australian Case Series

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Clinical Oncology, Volume 22, Issue 3, Page 404-410, June 2026.
Extragonadal germ cell tumors (EGCTs) are rare, with limited prospective data to guide treatment or inform prognosis. Incidence and treatment patterns of EGCT in Australia reflect international data and practices. Compared to testicular primaries, the prognosis of EGCT is poor, especially for primary mediastinal non‐seminoma.

Hyperaldosteronism in Mice Lacking the Distal Polybasic Tract of the γ‐Subunit of the Epithelial Sodium Channel During Sodium Restriction

open access: yesActa Physiologica, Volume 242, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Aims The epithelial sodium channel ENaC consists of the subunits α, β, and γ and is activated at an individual channel level by proteolytic processing. Murine γENaC contains a distal polybasic tract 186RKRK mediating proteolytic ENaC activation by serine proteases in vitro.

A study to determine the correlation between serum beta-human chorionic gonadotropin levels, lipid profile, and pregnancy-induced hypertension in the early second trimester

open access: yesMGM Journal of Medical Sciences
Background: Hypertensive disorders during pregnancy are among the leading causes of maternal and fetal morbidity and mortality worldwide. Hypertensive disorders in pregnancy are the second leading cause of maternal death after hemorrhage. Recent evidence

Chronic Hypoxia Disrupts Spermatogenesis Through ASXL2–EZH2–Mediated Microtubule Destabilization

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 26, 8 May 2026.
This study reveals the mechanism by which chronic hypoxia impairs spermatogenesis via the ASXL2–EZH2 axis, hindering the transition of spermatids from round to elongated forms. Key findings reveal that under hypoxic conditions, downregulated ASXL2 expression reduces EZH2 binding to the CEP162 promoter, leading to decreased H3K27me3 modification and ...
