Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Knockout mutants of Arabidopsis thaliana β-galactosidase. Modifications in the cell wall saccharides and enzymatic activities

open access: yesBiologia Plantarum, 2018
This work studied the six β-galactosidases (BGALs) of the subfamily a1 of Arabidopsis, that have been proposed to play important roles in the cell wall remodelling during plant development, although their precise functions are still unknown.

Observation of the ψð3686ß decays into Σ+ Σ - ω and Σ+ Σ - φ

open access: yes, 2023
Based on (2712.4 +/- 14.3) x 106 events recorded at the psi(3686) nominal mass collected with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII collider, the psi(3686) -> E +/- E over bar -omega and E +/- E over bar -phi decays are observed for the first time with statistical significances of 13.8 sigma and 7.6 sigma, respectively.

Integration of circadian and hypoxia signaling via non‐canonical heterodimerization

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
CLOCK, BMAL1, and HIFs are basic helix‐loop‐helix and Per‐Arnt‐Sim domain (bHLH‐PAS) proteins, which function as transcription factors. bHLH‐PAS proteins are designated in two classes. Many class I proteins are regulated by environmental signals via their PAS domains, but such signals have not been identified for all.

Isolation and molecular characterization of pathogenesis related PR2 gene and its promoter from Brassica juncea

open access: yesBiologia Plantarum, 2017
Pathogenesis-related (PR) proteins play key roles in plant disease resistance. Here, we isolated and characterized pathogenesis-related PR2 gene encoding β-1,3-glucanase from Brassica juncea and named it BjPR2 (GenBank accession number DQ359125).

On Γ-TS-Acts Over Ternary Γ-Semigroups

open access: yesInternational Journal of Engineering & Technology, 2018
We generalise the notion of acts over ternary semigroups to the Γ-TS-acts for a ternary Γ-semigroup T.  Certain intrinsic notions of Γ-TS-acts are studied.

Substrate specificity of Burkholderia pseudomallei multidrug transporters is influenced by the hydrophilic patch in the substrate‐binding pocket

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Multidrug transporters BpeB and BpeF from the Gram‐negative pathogen Burkholderia pseudomallei have a hydrophilic patch in their substrate‐binding pocket. Drug susceptibility tests and growth curve analyses using an Escherichia coli recombinant expression system revealed that the hydrophilic patches of BpeB and BpeF are involved in the substrate ...
