Stable Frank-Kasper phases of self-assembled, soft matter spheres
Single molecular species can self-assemble into Frank Kasper (FK) phases, finite approximants of dodecagonal quasicrystals, defying intuitive notions that thermodynamic ground states are maximally symmetric.

Single circulating tumor cells (sCTCs) from high‐grade serous ovarian cancer patients were enriched, imaged, and genomically profiled using WGA and NGS at different time points during treatment. sCTCs revealed enrichment of alterations in Chromosomes 2, 7, and 12 as well as persistent or emerging oncogenic CNAs, supporting sCTC identity.

Corrosion Resistance of Solution-Treated S32750 Duplex Stainless Steel in a Simulated Flue Gas Desulfurization Environment [PDF]
The metallurgical structure changes of S32750 duplex stainless steel during solution treatment can reduce its corrosion resistance in flue gas desulfurization environments. In this study,S32750 duplex stainless steel was solution-treated at temperatures ...

Short-Range Order in Fe-Rich Fe-Cr Alloys as Revealed by M\"ossbauer Spectroscopy
Distribution of Cr atoms in Fe_{100-x}Cr_x alloys with x \le 25 within the first two coordination shells, 1NN-2NN, around probe 57Fe atoms was studied by means of the M\"ossbauer Spectroscopy.

Two--dimensional lattice Gross--Neveu model with Wilson twisted mass fermions [PDF]
We study the two-dimensional lattice Gross--Neveu model with Wilson twisted mass fermions in order to explore the phase structure in this setup. In particular, we investigate the behaviour of the phase transitions found earlier with standard Wilson ...

Etoposide induces DNA damage, activating p53‐dependent apoptosis via caspase‐3/7, which cleaves PARP1. Dammarenediol II enhances this apoptotic pathway by suppressing O‐GlcNAc transferase activity, further decreasing O‐GlcNAcylation. The reduction in O‐GlcNAc levels boosts p53‐driven apoptosis and influences the Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling pathway ...

The role of diffusion in branching and annihilation random walk models [PDF]
Different branching and annihilating random walk models are investigated by cluster mean-field method and simulations in one and two dimensions. In case of the A -> 2A, 2A -> 0 model the cluster mean-field approximations show diffusion dependence in the ...

Meta‐transcriptome analysis identified FGF19 as a peptide enteroendocrine hormone associated with colorectal cancer prognosis. In vivo xenograft models showed release of FGF19 into the blood at levels that correlated with tumor volumes. Tumoral‐FGF19 altered murine liver metabolism through FGFR4, thereby reducing bile acid synthesis and increasing ...

Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...
