PK型断路器是一种空气断路器。自132千伏至765千伏已形成完整的系列,并分别在美国电力网、加拿大魁北克电站投入运行。 断路器的基本部件是一个“开断单元”。它由主断口灭弧室与辅助断口灭孤室组成,是担负分、合输电线路的主要部分。目前,世界各国大多采用若干个“开断单元”串联以实现超高压输电。“开断单元”的主,辅灭孤室的剖视图见图1所示。
