Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Measurement of CP observables in B0 → DK ∗0 with D →K+ K [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The decay B 0 → DK *0 and the charge conjugate mode are studied using 1.0 fb−1 of pp collision data collected by the LHCb experiment at s√=7 TeV in 2011.

Electronic Excited States of Tungsten(0) Arylisocyanides

open access: yesInorganic Chemistry, 2015
W(CNAryl)6 complexes containing 2,6-diisopropylphenyl isocyanide (CNdipp) are powerful photoreductants with strongly emissive long-lived excited states. These properties are enhanced upon appending another aryl ring, e.g., W(CNdippPh(OMe2))6; CNdippPh(OMe2) = 4-(3,5-dimethoxyphenyl)-2,6-diisopropylphenylisocyanide (Sattler et al. J. Am. Chem. Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Possible J(PC)=0(+-) exotic states

open access: yes, 2013
We study possible exotic J(PC) = 0(+-) states using tetraquark interpolating currents with the QCD sum rule approach. The extracted masses are around 4.85 GeV for the charmonium-like states and 11.25 GeV for the bottomonium-like states.

Residual tail twisting in ascidian larvae is stabilized by asymmetric myofibrils that resist bilateral symmetry restoration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ascidian Ciona larvae initially show strong clockwise tail twisting, which is largely corrected during development. However, a small residual twist remains. This study shows that organized helical myofibrils in tail muscles mechanically stabilize this residual asymmetry, preventing complete restoration of bilateral symmetry and revealing how embryos ...

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Masses of di-mesonic molecular states

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2015
We discuss the theoretical predictions of some di-mesonic (meson-anti meson) states and compare with some prominent experimental candidates. The masses of several di-mesonic states are computed in semi relativistic approach. The two photon decay width is

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2020
In this work, we preform a systematic investigation about hidden heavy and doubly heavy molecular states from the $$D^{(*)}{\bar{D}}^{(*)}/B^{(*)}{\bar{B}}^{(*)}$$ D ( ∗ ) D ¯ ( ∗ ) / B ( ∗ ) B ¯ ( ∗ ) and $$D^{(*)}D^{(*)}/{\bar{B}}^{(*)}{\bar{B}}^{(*)}$$

Angular distribution of Λ b 0 → p K − ℓ + ℓ − $$ {\Lambda}_b^0\to p{K}^{-}{\ell}^{+}{\ell}^{-} $$ decays comprising Λ resonances with spin ≤ 5/2

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2023
This paper describes the angular distribution of Λ b 0 → Λ → p K − ℓ + ℓ − $$ {\Lambda}_b^0\to \Lambda \left(\to p{K}^{-}\right){\ell}^{+}{\ell}^{-} $$ decays. A full expression is given for the case of multiple interfering spin-states with spin ≤ 5 2 $$
