Detecting quantum speedup in closed and open systems
We construct a general measure for detecting the quantum speedup in both closed and open systems. The speed measure is based on the changing rate of the position of quantum states on a manifold with appropriate monotone Riemannian metrics.

A robust scheme for the implementation of the quantum Rabi model in trapped ions
We show that the technique known as concatenated continuous dynamical decoupling (CCD) can be applied to a trapped-ion setup for a robust implementation of the quantum Rabi model in a variety of parameter regimes.

Two dimensional kicked quantum Ising model: dynamical phase transitions
Using an efficient one and two qubit gate simulator operating on graphical processing units, we investigate ergodic properties of a quantum Ising spin $1/2$ model on a two-dimensional lattice, which is periodically driven by a δ -pulsed transverse ...

Mean parity of single quantum excitation of some optical fields in thermal environments
The mean parity (the Wigner function at the origin) of excited binomial states, excited coherent states and excited thermal states in thermal channel is investigated in details.

An alternative quantum fidelity for mixed states of qudits [PDF]
We give an alternative definition of quantum fidelity for two density operators on qudits in terms of the Hilbert-Schmidt inner product between them and their purity.

Quantum entanglement in coupled harmonic oscillator systems: from micro to macro
We investigate the entanglement dynamics of several models of coupled harmonic oscillators, whereby a number of properties concerning entanglement have been scrutinized, such as how the environment affects entanglement of a system, and death and revival ...

Decoherence models for discrete-time quantum walks and their application to neutral atom experiments
We discuss decoherence in discrete-time quantum walks in terms of a phenomenological model that distinguishes spin and spatial decoherence. We identify the dominating mechanisms that affect quantum-walk experiments realized with neutral atoms walking in ...

Quantum Fisher Information of W States in Decoherence Channels [PDF]
We study the quantum Fisher information (QFI) of W states analytically with respect to SU(2) rotations in the basic decoherence channels i.e. depolarizing (DPC), amplitude damping (ADC) and phase damping (PDC), and present the interesting behavior of QFI

Quantum circuit design for accurate simulation of qudit channels
We construct a classical algorithm that designs quantum circuits for algorithmic quantum simulation of arbitrary qudit channels on fault-tolerant quantum computers within a pre-specified error tolerance with respect to diamond-norm distance.
