Regioselective Tele‐Substitution of Aroyl Chlorides via Activation by an Al/P Frustrated Lewis Pair
A tele‐substitution of aroyl chlorides with silyl ketene acetals is enabled by an ortho‐phenylene‐linked Al/P frustrated Lewis pair. Intramolecular aluminum activation polarizes the aroylphosphonium intermediate, promoting regioselective dearomative nucleophilic addition to the aromatic ring.
