Rapid spectrophotometric determination of thorium(IV) with 1-(2′-thiazolylazo)-2-naphthol

Journal of Radioanalytical and Nuclear Chemistry Articles, 1985
Thorium(IV) reacts with 1-(2′-thiazolylazo)-2-naphthol (TAN) in the presence of antipyrine to form a sparingly soluble red-coloured chelate, soluble in ≥36% methanol (v/v). Complexation takes place instantaneously at pH 2.4–2.8, maintained by glycine buffer. Antipyrine is found to enhance sensitivity of the complex, which is stable for 19 hours.

Extraction-spectrophotometric determination of zirconium or hafnium with 1-(2-thiazolylazo)-2-naphthol

The Analyst, 1985
An extraction-spectrophotometric method is described for the determination of zirconium or hafnium. The effect of order of reagent addition, choice of solvent for extraction and effects of various ions have been studied.

ChemInform Abstract: 2‐(2‐THIAZOLYLAZO)‐4‐METHYLPHENOL UND 1‐(2‐THIAZOLYLAZO)‐2‐NAPHTHOL‐3,6‐DISULFONSAEURE ALS MERKURIMETRISCHE INDIKATOREN

Chemischer Informationsdienst, 1974

Spectrophotometric determination of uranium(VI) with 1-(2′-thiazolylazo)-2-naphthol in the presence of Trition X-100

Journal of Radioanalytical and Nuclear Chemistry Articles, 1986
Uranium(VI) reacts with 1-(2′-thiazolylazo)-2-naphthol to form a red-coloured chelate in the pH range 5.3–7.2, maintained by 0.04 M acetate buffer. Absorbance of the sparingly soluble complex, solubilized and stabilized by Triton X-100, is measured after 30 min and it is stable for at least 16 hours.

Characterisation of a Hg(II) ion optrode based on Nafion®-1-(2-thiazolylazo)-2-naphthol composite thin films

Journal of Environmental Monitoring, 1999
An optrode for Hg2+ ions based on a Nafion-1-(2-thiazolylazo)-2-naphtol (TAN) composite thin film has been developed. This optrode has a wide linear response range of 1-75 microM (pH 6) of Hg2+ ions with a limit of detection of 0.05 microM (10 micrograms l-1), which is sufficiently adequate for many environmental monitoring applications.

Fluorometric determination of copper(II) using CdTe quantum dots coated with 1-(2-thiazolylazo)-2-naphthol and an ionic liquid

Microchimica Acta, 2016
The sulfur-containing reagents dithizone, 2,3-dimercapto-1-propanol, 2-thenoyltrifluoroacetone, 1,3,4-thiadiazole-2,5-dithiol, and 1-(2-thiazolylazo)-2-naphthol (TAN) were first examined with respect to their stabilizing effect on CdTe nanocrystals. The indicator TAN was found to best passivate the surface of CdTe NCs if added during synthesis of the ...

Solid phase sorption of microamount of Hg(II) onto 1-(2-thiazolylazo)-2-naphthol (TAN) loaded polyurethane foam

Radiochimica Acta, 2005
Summary Mercury is a toxic environmental pollutant. A method has been developed to remove these metal ions by preconcentrating onto 1-(2-thiazolylazo)-2-naphthol (TAN) loaded polyurethane (PUR) foam that proves an excellent sorbent for these metal ions.

Investigation of the Removal of Lead by Adsorption onto 1‐(2‐Thiazolylazo)‐2‐Naphthol (TAN) Imbedded Polyurethane Foam from Aqueous Solution

Journal of the Chinese Chemical Society, 2007
AbstractA new preconcentration method is presented for lead on TAN‐loaded polyurethane foam (PUF) and its measurement by differential pulse anodic stripping voltammetry (DPASV). The optimum sorption conditions of 1.29 × 10−5 M solution of Pb(II) ions on TAN‐loaded PUF were investigated.

Preconcentration neutron activation analysis of trace elements in seawater by coprecipitation with 1-(2-thiazolylazo)-2-naphthol, pyrrolidinedithiocarbamate and N-nitroso-phenylhydroxylamine

Journal of Radioanalytical and Nuclear Chemistry Articles, 1993
A method has been developed for the simultaneous preconcentration of Cd(II), Co(II), Cu(II), Hg(II), Mn(II), Th(IV), U(VI), V(IV) and Zn(II) from 500–1000 ml of water samples by coprecipitation using a combination of 1-(2-thiazolylazo)-2-naphthol, ammonium pyrrolidinedithiocarbamate and ammonium salt of N-nitroso-phenylhydroxylamine.

H-point Standard Addition Method (HPSAM) for Simultaneous Spectrophotometric Determination of Cu(II) and Pd(II) by 1-(2-thiazolylazo)-2-naphthol (TAN) in Micellar Media

Analytical Chemistry Letters, 2016
AbstractThe H-point standard addition method (HPSAM) is proposed for the simultaneous determination of Cu(II) and Pd(II). It is a simple, selective, and sensitive, spectrophotometric method. The basis of this technique is the complex formation of Cu(II) and Pd(II) with 1-(2-thiazolylazo)-2-naphthol (TAN) at pH 2.2, and in the presence of sodium dodecyl
