2-Propanol degradation by Sulfolobus solfataricus

open access: yes, 2003
Sulfolobus solfataricus used 2-propanol and 2-propanone (acetone) when grown in static cultures at 78 °C with or without glucose at 10 g l-1. The presence of 3.92 g 2-propanol l-1 in both cases inhibited growth.

Zur Rolle von Wasser bei der CO2‐Reduktion an defektreichem TiO2 bei niedrigen Temperaturen

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.

Role of Water in Low‐Temperature CO2 Reduction at Defect‐Rich TiO2

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, EarlyView.
Our results highlight the potential of reduced titania as a noble metal‐free CO2 activation catalyst and show the activation of CO2 on highly defective TiO2 using in situ synchrotron‐based NAP‐XPS from room temperature to 700 K. The distribution of surface intermediates can be decoded as a simultaneous population of reaction routes, revealing water (OH)

Advancements in CO2 Capture Technologies: A Review of Amine Absorption and Alternative Methods for Post‐Combustion Integration

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Carbon capture technologies are poised to become one of the primary focuses regarding the achievement of net‐zero emissions by the year 2050. In these technologies, particular attention is given to post‐combustion CO2 capture, which is more easily implemented at existing power stations and other industries.

A New Protocol for Measuring Gluten Index: Assessing Gluten Quality Independent of Protein Quantity

open access: yesCereal Chemistry, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background and Objectives When assessing wheat gluten quality, traditional dough rheological tests often confound protein quality with protein quantity, making it difficult to distinguish the contribution of each factor. This study presents a modified gluten index (GI) protocol designed to evaluate wheat gluten quality independent of protein ...
