RNA Promotes Synapsin Condensates That Organize Synaptic Vesicles in Live Neurons and Enable Localized Translation in Reconstituted System

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Condensates at synapses organize synaptic vesicles (SVs) and are crucial for efficient neurotransmitter release, yet how RNA contributes to this mesoscale architecture remains poorly understood. Here we uncover that RNA modulates synapsin–driven condensates.

Amorphous 1-propanol interstellar ice beyond its melting point [PDF]

open access: yes
The recent discovery of 1-propanol (CH3CH2CH2OH) in the interstellar medium (ISM) is of tremendous interest since fatty alcohols have been proposed as constituents of proto-cell membranes.

Diverging Liquid–Liquid Phase Separation Behavior of Different Recombinant Major Ampullate Spidroins

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Fibers spun from the MaSp1‐derivative as well as MaSp1‐MaSp2‐mixtures provide a deeper insight into the assembly process of the spidroins and how hierarchical architectures of spider silk fibers could be achieved. ABSTRACT Spider silk fibers show exceptional mechanical properties, based on their underlying spider silk proteins (spidroins) as well as a ...

The effects of 1-propanol, 2-propanol, NaCl, urea, and [beta]-D-fructose on the molecular organization of water

open access: yes, 1999
Excess partial molar enthalpies of 1-propanol, HIP[sup E], were measured directly and accurately in four ternary aqueous systems by titrating small increments of 1 -propanol into mixtures comprised of 1-propanol, H₂O, and a "third component" at 25°C ...

Effects of Lactobacillus buchneri inoculation or 1-propanol supplementation to corn silage on the performance of lactating Holstein cows

open access: yesRevista Brasileira de Zootecnia
The objective was to evaluate the effects of corn silage supplemented with 1-propanol or inoculated with L. buchneri on the ruminal fermentation profile, digestibility, and production traits of lactating Holstein cows. Whole-corn plants were harvested at

Plasma‐Engineered Polyethylene‐Reinforced Anion Exchange Membranes With Low Ionic Resistance and Low Hydrogen Crossover for Water Electrolysis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Oxygen plasma functionalizes porous polyethylene, enabling complete hydrocarbon ionomer infiltration within a dense submicron pore network. The resulting reinforced composite membrane simultaneously enhances mechanical robustness and suppresses hydrogen permeation at ultrathin thickness. An integrated performance index confirms the effectiveness of the

Densities of CO2-loaded and unloaded 3-amino-1-propanol aqueous solutions and their blends with 2-amino-2-methyl-1-propanol at high pressures

open access: yes
Carbon capture and storage and carbon capture and utilization are key technologies to reduce CO2 emissions by capturing and storing (or converting) CO2. In this context, amine-based aqueous solutions play a key role in these processes, especially because

An Unbiased Geometry‐Resolved Membrane Platform for Proteome‐Scale Discovery of Membrane Curvature Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A novel geometry‐resolved membrane platform provides a seamlessly integrated pipeline for studying curvature‐sensing proteins. By linking shotgun proteomics with quantitative imaging, this approach enables both the unbiased discovery and rigorous validation of novel sensors across the entire curvature range—positive, negative, and zero.
