Heats of mixing of cyclohexane with 1-propanol and 2-propanol

open access: yes, 1979
The concentration dependences of excess enthalpies of the binary systems cyclohexane-1-propanol and cyclohexane-2-propanol were measured in an isothermal calorimeter at six temperatures in the range of 25-50°C.

Nanocrystalline LCO/LLZO Composite Cathode Films for Solid State Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
A single precursor solution is solution‐deposited and calcined at only 750°C to yield a dense, nanograined LiCoO2/LLZO composite cathode, in which both phases crystallize independently with minimal interdiffusion. Assembled into all‐solid‐state Li‐metal batteries, the composite delivers 111.7 mAh g−1 initial discharge capacity and retains 93% after 100

Ruthenium‐Catalyzed Nitrile‐Acrylate Reductive Coupling by 2‐Propanol: Synthesis of Enantioenriched β‐Amino Esters

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
The first nitrile reductive couplings beyond stoichiometric metals or metalloids are described. Using a ruthenium catalyst derived from RuHCl(CO)(PPh3)3 and Cy‐BIPHEP, 2‐propanol‐mediated reductive coupling of phenyl acrylate with aromatic or aliphatic nitriles delivers α,β‐unsaturated β‐amino esters.

Microbial‐Metabolite Signatures Are Associated With Glucocorticoid Responsiveness in Chronic Rhinosinusitis With Nasal Polyps

open access: yesInternational Forum of Allergy &Rhinology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Patients with chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP) exhibit heterogeneous responses to oral glucocorticoids (GCs), but the biological basis of this variability remains unclear. Objective To identify gut microbiome‒plasma metabolomic signatures associated with GC responsiveness in CRSwNP patients and to compare their ...

Synthesis, characterization and X-ray structure of an oxazine derivative

open access: yesBulletin of the Chemical Society of Ethiopia, 2010
The 5,6-dihydro-6-methyl-2,3-diphenyl-2H-1,4-oxazine-2-ol compound (2) was prepared unambiguously by condensation of 1,2-diphenylethanone with 1-amino-2-propanol in the presence of glacial acetic acid.

2-Propanol degradation by Sulfolobus solfataricus

open access: yes, 2003
Sulfolobus solfataricus used 2-propanol and 2-propanone (acetone) when grown in static cultures at 78 °C with or without glucose at 10 g l-1. The presence of 3.92 g 2-propanol l-1 in both cases inhibited growth.

Multi-Omics Analysis Reveals 1-Propanol-Induced Pentadecanoic Acid Biosynthesis in Yarrowia lipolytica

open access: yesBiomolecules
Pentadecanoic acid (C15:0) is an odd-chain fatty acid (OCFA) with significant health benefits, mainly produced by microbial fermentation. To improve C15:0 production, this study compared the effects of different alcohols on C15:0 production in Yarrowia ...

Ethanol and Higher Alcohols’ Production in Fungal and Bacterial Laboratory Cultures and Significance for Forensic Samples

open access: yesMicroorganisms
Ethanol can be produced by many microorganisms that colonize a dead body. Ethanol’s concentration depends on the congener higher alcohols, 1-propanol, isobutanol, 2-methyl-1-butanol, 3-methyl-1-butanol, and 1-butanol, as previous research has shown. This

Improved extraction of prolamins for gluten detection in processed foods

open access: yesAgricultural and Food Science, 2008
A problem in gluten analysis has been inconsistent extractability of prolamins, particularly from processed foods consisting of unknown portions of prolamins from wheat, barley, and rye.
