Seed traits and germination behaviour of kemunting (Rhodomyrtus tomentosa) populations as affected by different temperatures [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
To examine the variation in seed morphometric traits as well as germination performance at a range of temperatures (10-40°C), Rhodomyrtus tomentosa seeds were collected from four locations across Peninsular Malaysia (designated (C-02), (K-03), (M-01) and

Evaluation of Seed Test Weight on Major Field Crops

open access: yes, 2018
Test weight is an important predictor for milling of yield; test weights are measured on grain loads by weighing a known volume of grain, which is used to compare grain densities.

FIELD PEA (PISUM SATIVUM L.) BIOMASS PRODUCTION DEPENDED ON SEED AGE AND AGROECOLOGICAL GROWTH CONDITIONS [PDF]

open access: yesPoljoprivreda, 2006
Influence of weather conditions and seed age on fresh and dry biomass production, field germination, seed yield and 1000 seed weight of field pea were investigated in field trials during two years at two locations of East Croatia (Osijek and Vinkovci ...

Hydro-priming and halo-priming improve seed germination, yield and yield contributing characters of Okra (Abelmoschus esculentus L.)

open access: yesTropical Plant Research, 2020
: Seed priming is a pre-sowing treatment which enables the seed to germinate more efficiently and improves seedling vigor as well as yield. Hydro-priming is an important seed treatment technique for rapid seed germination and pre-sowing of seeds with ...

Character association and path coefficient analysis for grain yield and yield components in finger millet (Eleusine coracana (L.) Gaertn.) [PDF]

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Plant Breeding, 2015
An investigation was carried out to assess the character association and the magnitude of direct and indirect effects of yield component traits on grain yield of finger millet for 11 characters viz., days to 50% flowering, days to maturity, plant height (

PYCR1 inhibition in bone marrow stromal cells enhances bortezomib sensitivity in multiple myeloma cells by altering their metabolism

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study investigated how PYCR1 inhibition in bone marrow stromal cells (BMSCs) indirectly affects multiple myeloma (MM) cell metabolism and viability. Culturing MM cells in conditioned medium from PYCR1‐silenced BMSCs impaired oxidative phosphorylation and increased sensitivity to bortezomib.

Adaptaquin is selectively toxic to glioma stem cells through disruption of iron and cholesterol metabolism

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Adaptaquin selectively kills glioma stem cells while sparing differentiated brain cells. Transcriptomic and proteomic analyses show Adaptaquin disrupts iron and cholesterol homeostasis, with iron chelation amplifying cytotoxicity via cholesterol depletion, mitochondrial dysfunction, and elevated reactive oxygen species.

Phenotypical and physiological study of near-isogenic durum wheat lines under contrasting water regimes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Irrigation treatments involving two water regimes were carried out in a controlled environment on eight nearisogenic durum wheat lines that differed in a major yield-related QTL region (QYld.

Patient‐specific pharmacogenomics demonstrates xCT as predictive therapeutic target in colon cancer with possible implications in tumor connectivity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study integrates transcriptomic profiling of matched tumor and healthy tissues from 32 colorectal cancer patients with functional validation in patient‐derived organoids, revealing dysregulated metabolic programs driven by overexpressed xCT (SLC7A11) and SLC3A2, identifying an oncogenic cystine/glutamate transporter signature linked to ...
