Functionalized Antifouling Polymer Brushes for Biospecific Surfaces

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Modern biosensors offer high sensitivity but often struggle with long‐term stability and selectivity for specific targets. Antifouling polymer brushes help enhance both stability and selectivity. In this review, we compare recent antifouling coatings, their design parameters, and how they are integrated with biorecognition elements for improved ...

THE DECLINE (AND REVIVAL?) OF BLACK FARMERS AND RURAL LANDOWNERS: A REVIEW OF THE RESEARCH LITERATURE [PDF]

open access: yes
African-Americans as a group went from owning almost no land in the United States after the Civil War to peaking at 15 million acres by 1920. In that year, 14% of all US farmers were black. Of these 926,000 black farmers, all but 10,000 were in the South.

Tailoring Gel Polymer Electrolytes for Advancing Quasi‐Solid‐State Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
A UV‐curable gel polymer electrolyte featuring a PEGDA/PEGMA crosslinked network is developed for quasi‐solid‐state lithium batteries. Tuning the curing time enables enhanced ionic conductivity, Li⁺ transference, and interfacial stability, leading to stable lithium plating/stripping and long‐cycle performance in both half and full cells.
