Read the free Plain Language Summary for this article on the Journal blog. Abstract Root and leaf turnover is a major contributor to soil organic carbon (SOC) dynamics and storage. However, while roots of multiple species occur in soils, and leaves are often incorporated to soil by bioturbation processes, it remains unknown how litter mixing in soils ...

The excretion of 15N in urine after administration of 15N-glycine
Biochimica et Biophysica Acta, 1954Abstract The 15 N-abundance was determined in urine from normal persons in nitrogen balance up to 360 hours after administration of 15 N-labelled glycine. It is shown that the 15 N-abundance in excess in urine with good approximation follows the equation: a = a 1 e − B 1 t + a 2 e − B 2 t + a 3 e − B 3 t By integration of ...

Abstract 15 N 15 N and 15 N 13 C spin-spin couplings are reported for seven 15 N labeled 1-oxa and 1-thia-2,3,4-triazoles and three sydnonimines. For the former class of compounds the spin-spin coupling data show a close similarity between the N2N3 and N3N4 bonds which had not previously been suspected from chemical shift measurements.
